With no retention? That’s a crazy return
Sometime Pagnotta seems like he’s well connected. Other times he says stuff like this that makes no sense at all, and I go back to thinking he’s just a hack making stuff up.

His stock isn’t at an all time low anymore. He’s playing significantly better this season. He’s one of the players im least disappointed in this specific season.

That return is pretty clearly a ‘we don’t want to move Petey at his lowest, so you better force our hand with a ridiculous offer’ type of ask.

Detroit needs to add a solid center in order to stay 1st in the atlantic. Pettersson would make them unreal. Id target their 1st and either plante or Carter bear.

A first a roster player down the middle and a prospect for a guy who has a decent baseline with the potential for massive upside if he gets his speed back, great defensively locked into term(with a rising cap) . It’s essentially the Bo Horvat deal but with a center coming back. 4 years ago this kid would have fetched a better return than Hughes, what a bummer…

If they actually somehow got that I’d be so happy, but he’d probably have to keep up his recent play consistently for a while for that to happen.

Personally, I think the return will be similar to what we got for Miller. A first, a 2/3c with upside, and a prospect.

Trading away the last of Horvat Hughes Miller and Pettersson , amazing accomplishment. How many jerseys were bought of these players in the last ten years. Just incredible. I’m all for the full rebuild btw but just wow.

Honestly I’m glad, it’s one of the few bright spots this season, watching his game at least kinda come back.
