With Kyle Tucker on the team what does this mean for Kiké Hernandez?

  1. Nothing really. Kike can move around all over, and him and miggy will share utility duties for when guys are out, injuries, or need a day off.

  2. Why would Kyle Tucker make a difference on whether or not you sign the right-handed hitting Shohei Ohtani?

  3. Nothing. He’ll be signed as guys hit the 60 day and whenever we feel like getting him ramped up, we’ll waive someone and get him on the active roster. Ibanez maybe.

  4. Kiké is evergreen in LA until he’s finished playing. He’s utility af, doesn’t command a high salary and is arguably the heart and soul of this team.

  5. He wont be ready for the start of the season anyway, he’ll come in the 2nd half and be ready for October once again.

  6. Saw a tweet last night saying that regardless of who’s on the roster, kike will somehow be in the World Series lineup

  7. I don’t think it effects him at all. He’s a bench utility guy now that can cover down for LF and 3B if Tucker or Muncy need time off.

  8. bench and depth. I didn’t see Kike as a long term possible starter, but with Tucker it seems pretty confirmed.

This is why guys like Rojas, and Kike, and CT3 before them are important. Insurance for injuries or slumps and rest.

Rojas is done this year, not sure about Kike, but another reason I would want Kim and Edman to both learn 2B, SS, and CF. It is great to have utility!

  9. If I had to guess I think Kiké signs, gets stashed on the IL, then when he’s healthy we use an Alex Call option

  10. Move him around and keep him healthy and rested all season. He’ll show up in October.

  11. Kike aint going anywhere. Strong utility player that somehow overperforms come post-season.

  12. There a understanding (even mentioned multiple times on Sportsnet LA) that there is already an agreement with Kike to be signed during spring training when the IL opens up. He won’t be returning until around the all-star game because of surgery and signing him now just uses up a slot on 40 man roster for no reason. The signing of Ibanez was a cheap place holder of an extra infielder while Kike comes back. We all know we only need Señor Octubre for the playoffs.

  13. Kike won’t be available for a while because of his injury and they’ll probably sign him last

  14. Kike will obviously sign at the right time. Tucker’s signing all but ensures Kike will remain in the role he’s best suited for at this point in his career and for this team, and which will best preserve his health, which is super-utility player and Dodgers postseason legend.
