It’s not uncommon for the reigning Super Bowl champion, returning the majority of their roster, to be highly ranked going into the next season. Their offensive struggles were evident early in the season and they were never top of anyone’s power rankings during the season. I get the trolling as a Rams fan, since you lost a heartbreaker to the Eagles but for the Cowboys element of this meme, they still ran away with the NFC East this year.

The Eagles didn’t collapse quite as badly as certain other teams that were near the top of the league last year, but I think everyone knew something was off about them and another Super Bowl run seemed unlikely.

I heard the line “best roster” in the league but I don’t think anyone called them the best team. Hopefully that nuance makes sense
