The Rangers have declared a retool

  1. The retool should start with a new GM… Keeping Drury will be the definition of insanity!

  2. Chris Drudry will fail to rebuild the New York Rangers as he failed to be GM with a winning club! Good luck New York Rangers fans, you will need it, because it will be painful!

  3. Best if luck to the Rangers and their fans. Navigating hard years with injuries is tough to endure

  4. Retool implies there was a tool to begin with. This team is broken. Its roster is rotting from within. It needs to be torn up and a new roster/core must be started from scratch. Trying to keep pieces that are on the team now and retool them into a Stanley Cup caliber roster will only prolong the pain, suffering and losing.

  5. you’ll see!!! you’ll all see! we will be good again!

    for one season

    in 6 years

  6. Hey Chris, you spelled “I hereby resign as the General Manager of the New York Rangers, effective immediately” incorrectly.

  7. I recalled them doing this once before, so I looked into it. Feb 2018 they released a similar letter. I checked the seasons between then and now. Just interesting.

    2019 – Did not qualify
2020 – Lost qualifying round vs. Carolina Hurricanes, 0–3
    2021 – Did not qualify
2022 – Lost conference finals vs. Tampa Bay Lightning, 2–4
2023 – Lost first round vs. New Jersey Devils, 3–4
2024 – Lost conference finals vs. Florida Panthers, 2–4
    2025 – Did not qualify

  8. Does the retooling include a new name and logo to protect the legacy from what the team has become? One of those you can have the name and logo back once you’ve earned it type deals?

  9. Having some trouble figuring out who actually would be considered “safe” on their roster. Every big name I think would be okay I immediately convince myself otherwise (to the right buyer for the right price that is)
