[Durant] asked if OKC is ‘grabby’ and ‘foul-prone’: “Nah, nah… They play with physicality for sure, but that’s what championship teams do. I don’t think they toe the line or anything. They just play swarming basketball, physical off-ball, great hands. I dont think they do too much, anything extra”

  1. The worst part of OKC’s physicality is the people on the Internet who won’t stop crying about it.

  2. Glad someone said it and isn’t a whiner about it. Durant is right. They all play hard and give max effort on defense. They all play together as a unit and move very well. And lastly, they all have terrific hands. Caruso and Wallace have some of the best hands I’ve seen in terms of getting steals and just getting their hands on the basketball in general.

  3. Their entire defense is full of guys that make the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th effort. It’s hard to beat that defense because even when you get it in rotation, you haven’t necessarily created an advantage.

  4. All I’ll say is that the Suns game vs the Pistons yesterday was far, far more grabby and physical than any of our games vs the Thunder this year lol.

  5. The entire narrative is based on idiots not knowing rules and thinking that:

    1) physicality = foul

    2) all physicality is equal

  6. I remember when people complained about how soft the league is and how nobody played defense, now they’re complaining about how physical OKC is and how they play too much defense

  7. I remember there was a time most fans were complaining about the league being “soft” now, there’s a physical team and they’re playing “dirty”😂😂

  8. hold up, an interesting question and informative answer at a post game press conference? what is going on?

  9. Well shoot. Should I believe redditors who say OKC is getting away with murder or should I believe KD who is a real hooper?

  10. I’ve never said anything bad about Kevin Durant or impugned his honor in any way

  11. Real basketball heads play hard. This isn’t dance class. 10 giants chasing a bouncy ball is supposed to be hectic.

  12. I know there’s a lot of hate for KD in certain circles, but he’s one of the most interesting guys to listen talk about the sport. He loves it, and he’s thoughtful about it.

  13. No Kevin! It’s goes

“Something something playing by a different set of rules something something”

  14. Durant isnt really the player you should be asking that question. He’s famously ultra skinny. You don’t get away with being over fouly against players built like him. He’s basically in the small guy tier.

  15. Everyone talking about the haters but I’m more interested in the OKC fans hearing KD say something good about them and how they’ll react

  16. i actually think the way okc plays defense is refreshing and i am very down for it to not be overly officiated. my issue with okc is that the consistency on the other end is not there. if other teams can play okc type of defense on shai then i would be whole heartedly fine w it all

  17. They’re a physical defense fasho and they have athletes that are great at reacting and recovering IF you somehow beat them off the dribble

Only time I had an issue w/theor physicality was the Nuggets series where Caruso beat tf outta Jokic BUT I also feel like Jokic wouldn’t match that physicality back which is why Caruso was getting away with even bein able to guard him
