Off-day “oh yeah, I forgot about that guy” post. Patrick Marleau was a Penguin for 8 games in the 2019-20 season and 4 playoff games before the Pens were swept by Montreal in the COVID bubble. He registered 1 goal and 1 assist during his time with the team.

  1. I’d love to forget that Marleau played for the Pens. When he did play for them it was as if he forgot how to play ironically

  2. Ugh, don’t want to remember that season, honestly.  Firing a bunch of good coaches, most notably defenseman whisperer Sergei Gonchar, and keeping Sully was stupid as fuck then and has proved stupid as fuck since.

Montreal making the playoffs led to memes aplenty, then they took a shit on the Penguins.  It’s one of the most humiliating series in franchise history.

  3. I’ll always say Marleau wasn’t bad at first. Then the shut down and it was like it took too long for his 40 year old body to ramp up again. Not enough of a training camp and he was shot.

  4. I traded for him in at least 5 different NHL games because the Sharks always put him on the trade block. It was funny to me when he actually suited up for us for real.

  5. Bullshit wildcard games for a team that shouldn’t have been able to even play in playoffs.
