[Sporting News] Rockies deny Kris Bryant attendance at private gathering of 2016 World Series championship celebration

  1. Seems like a petty move by the rockies. Almost punishment for being such a let down for them. Ridiculous

  2. That’s deeply fucked up. I get that it’s weird for a player on one team to attend another team’s convention, but the Rockies shouldn’t have the ability stop him from attending.

  3. Yeah, that’s a sure fire way to help your team out during re-negotiations when his contract is up.. Dumbasses. He’s only got 3 years left with the Rockies, and Kris is certainly one of those players who take incredibly well care of themselves, and will probably still play into his early 40’s.

  4. Absolute insanity. I maybe understand not wanting him at the actual convention but in what world can they prevent him from attending a private event?

  5. The story is incorrect. The Rockies did not stop KB from attending. He had a personal matter to attend to. There’s no controversy.

  6. This was reported by The Score but I haven’t seen any actual source, not even “an anonymous source says…”

  7. Can someone explain to me if there’s any even relatively good reason to not allow him?

Is it simply out of pettiness

  8. I live in Denver. Dick Monfort is a massive piece of shit and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he told Kris he can’t go out of pettiness for not having lived up to the giant contract he signed him to. He would absolutely do something like that. He’s a terrible owner

  9. I still don’t understand how a team can prevent a player from attending a private party. Its not as if he was gonna miss a game. Like whats next teams gonna start saying guys can’t go to off-season weddings?

  10. I’m a Sox fan, but that’s a real dick move. We’re going to be better this year.
