Titans seem very serious about Mike McCarthy

  1. Considering there are rumors about us hiring Lou Anarouma, I would be fucking ecstatic if they hired McCarthy today

  2. The hire makes too much sense to pass up. I think he would be a stabilizing force for the organization.

  3. This is really just worst case for me, I’d rather they’d punt and keep McCoy for a year. Never built up a team or established a culture. He would have zero ability to relate to Cam, his offense is so backwards that Brian freakin Schottenheimer felt like a breath of fresh air, and it’s essentially the same 11 personnel static ‘do it my way’ obsessed with field goals nonsense we’ve already been subjected to. He’s also in his 60s, has had zero interest from anyone.

Shows a complete lack of imagination and zero desire to build success team, just hope he’s the kiss-ass he’s always been so you don’t get fired.

I’m not really a ‘i’ll stop watching’ type of fan. But I have so little interest in this plan that it’s maybe the closet thing that could me seriously consider how I use my time.

  4. Ehh, I’m not opposed to McCarthy, prior to the offseason he was one of the better choices at HC if the goal was a stabilizing culture setting force with HC experience. It’s not an inspiring choice, i think most would say McCarthy’s best coaching days are behind him… but it is a valid “good enough” option.

The issue of course is… Now there are better coaching candidates and so if you go with McCarthy who is still everything i said above… you potentially lose out on a McDaniels or Saleh that also have HC experience and while they aren’t “culture guys” are guys that know one side of the ball OC or DC really well and could be the better overall/long term HC. (Also there is good odds Stefanski might just be “McCarthy” but better)

  5. Why are people mad? If anything he helps more than Harbaugh since he calls plays and is a QB and offensive line guru.

He also has about the same record as Harbaugh.

  6. For those who are saying that McCarthy’s coaching has been passed up, the same thing was said about Reid before he was hired with the Chiefs.

  7. Im afraid we will be too hesitant to swing for the fence on McDaniel after getting burned on Callahan. High floor guy who was there when Rodgers took over for Farve, and Prescott has high praise for him. It would be a great hire and floor raiser. Just not a swing for the fence hire. He’d give us a shot to at least get into the post season.

Its honestly our best option and checks all the boxes for us.
