Who Saves the Stars’ Blue Line Before It’s Too Late?

There are still just over seven weeks until the 2026 NHL Trade Deadline on March 6th. However, with a three-week break for the Winter Olympics and a corresponding NHL roster freeze from February 4th-22nd, the DLLS Stars Podcast is starting to get serious about looking at how Jim Nill can improve the Dallas Stars lineup before the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs this spring. Specifically, we discuss which potential trade target defenseman could improve the Stars’ blue line. Calgary’s Rasmus Andersson and St. Louis’ Justin Faulk see to be the top of the list, but other names are discussed, including New Jersey’s recently out-of-favor Dougie Hamilton. Which name makes realistic sense for Dallas to go after and who would complement the top four along with Miro Heiskanen, Esa Lindell and Thomas Harley?

  1. Dallas has the 7th best odds to win the Stanley Cup this season. Stop wasting prospects and picks on big trades until Seguin's contract is off the books. Focus on getting Robertson signed long term, or trade him.
