What’s Next For Red Sox After Bo Bichette Chooses Mets?

  1. Idk where Campbell fits right now, the extension still doesn’t make a ton of a sense given the Red Sox owned his rights for several more years (I don’t blame him for taking it though). Was it a rush to prove their process “works?”

  2. Paredes. Pull heavy righty decent fielder. Prob wont cost too much – I’d flip Bello + for him. Fine with Suarez as long as he’s in the dh mix (which may require additional trade) and not everyday 3b. Although his defense was fine before last year, could bounce back even tho he’s a little older. Don’t get ppl acting like he’s worthless b/c of swing and miss/defense flaws. Guys who hit a million dingers (he hit 49 despite being banged up last year?) come with flaw or two. He would be a very good add to the lineup and add a power dimension imo they still need to prioritize with that last bat if they add one.

  3. It’s another Bregman type contract on a player worse than Bregman. Bichette has not been healthy. 3/126 is too much. If this was the pivot after losing Bregman, I would be happy but Ranger was the sign they were doing this via trade.

They had interest in Bichette but didnt like his market and moved on.

Kick their ass for not moving on a NTC. Passing on Bichette in this case is fine. I think he is hall of very good but getting paid MVP HOF money.

  4. Although I don’t understand why so much noise about Duran, I would much rather have him at DH then Masa. You’ve already eaten his cosy

  5. Bichette was who I wanted them to get but doesn’t sound like they were ever in serious negotiations with him. He had a deal with the Phillies before the Mets swooped in.

They needed infielders and didn’t need pitching then they signed a pitcher so I’m guessing they’re going to trade pitching for an infielder.

  6. A two win over 500 season, a post season miss, and all these same sports writers questioning what went wrong with Kristian Campbell at second base.

  7. The Ranger signing def has me a bit pacified but man our lineup as is.. the lineup is gonna have some really really rough stretches.

  8. If ownership is serious about contending/winning, they’ll eat some of Yoshida’s contract instead of making Breslow trade Duran or Abreu.

  9. Someone explain to me why we aren’t talking to the Reds. They have young infielders and their top prospects are also infielders, and their outfield looks like garbage. Seems like a match made in heaven.

  10. Right now the move is to pivot to Raffaela as the primary second baseman. Allows them to get all 4 in the lineup even though it really hammers the defense.

  11. Nothing left to do but to raise ticket prices and tell the fans it gives us more flexibility at the deadline.
