  1. North American Indians might originally have referred to themselves as Redskins, but non North American Indians later started horrific acceptance of it. This word is in dictionaries as a slur. It signified bloody Indian scalps during an extermination era. Plus, large numbers of North American Indians protested it for longer than 26 years. If they sincerely view it as derogatory versus their culture, that is enough for change. Not all American Indians hate it, but none of them will get negative impacts from its removal; their culture is larger than two syllables!!! Being named after a tribe would be better than Redskins!!! Imagine if any sports clubs were named in vulgar ways after other groups; it would face opposition (rightfully). Let’s welcome justice for all.

  2. Can we stop going down this road of going back to a name that we all know is derogatory and disrespectful. This is ridiculous! Learn how to move forward and stop looking back to what use to be and be thankful for where you are and we you are going. We will never go anywhere if we keep looking in the rear view mirror of the past. I will tell you this you will be left behind, because I am choosing to move forward. This is the last time I plan to comment on this topic.
