Everyone is talking about the Post-Savard bump, which of course has been huge (9-1-3 is incredible). But since Stetcher joined the club 2 months ago today, they have a top 5 record in the league, with a +10 goal differential.

This isn't a blip, this is who they are. Really does show how bad the first 6 weeks were though…

I think the reason this isn't talked about is because it took another month (mid-December) for it all come together at once. Matthews at peak performance. PP figuring it out. The fact that in this incredible 29 game run, they did have a 5 game losing streak.

  2. They also have a ridiculously high save % and shooting % the last 3 weeks. Their PDO is pretty unsustainable so good chance they fall off a little from this pace at least. Definitely still flawed and giving up way too much defensively

  10. I was recently trying to think of our D-men that were injured and was like “No Carlo, Tanev, McCabe, Myers… Wait, how are they even staying afloat?” the answer was Troy Stecher.

  11. The fact that all.of Buffalo, Tampa Bay, Detroit and Montreal are all in and around the same range makes me wanna puke.

  16. Stecher has been an amazing pickup. How many times have we seen a leaf struggle and then put it together somewhere else. Nice to be on the receiving end of one of these for a change and I hope he can be a long term option for us.

  17. It’s insane the impact he has had. Must feel great for him to finally find a home and a place to succeed after all these years bouncing around.

  18. Him, the rise of Laughton, OEL’s consistencies, goalies getting good, and Matthews playing more like himself have all brought this team to the level of where they should be
