On The Locker Room, hosted by former Atlanta Falcon Brian Finneran alongside “Hometeam” Brandon Leak and Kelly Crull, the panel breaks down the Atlanta Falcons’ decision to hire Kevin Stefanski as the team’s new head coach following his departure from the Cleveland Browns. The discussion focuses on Stefanski’s coaching résumé, including his offensive background, leadership style, and experience guiding teams through high expectations and pressure. The hosts analyze why the Falcons identified Stefanski as the right fit for the organization, what his hiring signals about the franchise’s direction, and the challenges he faces in resetting the culture and maximizing the roster. The conversation also explores how Stefanski’s past successes and shortcomings could translate in Atlanta as the Falcons look to establish long-term stability and competitiveness.

  1. I keep hearing this notion that he’s a offensive minded HC, but for him being an offensive minded HC, the browns in the last 6 years have only had a top 10 offense ranking 1 year and they were 10th. The other years they have been 16th or very low. We needed someone who was going to unlock this offense, but time will tell.

  2. It’s an ok hired, but the Shedaur situation gives me BIG pause. We where dayum near calling him r*cist but when you bring it up to people now they say “ I wouldn’t make one bad decision cover the good he’s done”
Mofo that’s a VERY bad decision man refused to move off of a really bad QB 😭.

  3. So people want to win now with this group of talent, yet we wanted a first time HC, first time GM, first time Exec in Ryan……thats a lot of cultural turnover.

Kubiak has only been the full time player 2x in his entire coaching career. let that sink in. Its also easy to look good when you have McDonalds defense.

  4. Impatience may have really bitten the birds in the @ss this time. If they'd waited 48 hours they could have had Sean McDermott instead. 98-50 is a hell of a lot better record than 45-56.

  5. 😡 Falcons 😡 are 😡 stupid 😡 still 😡. Hiring 😡 another 😡 loser 😡. Should 😡 have 😡 waited 😡 and 😡 hired 😡 Sean 😡 McDermott 😡 smdh 😡

  6. Get her off the mic. "tHeRe'S nObODy eLsE wItH hC eXpErIRNcE oUt tHeRe." I'll just mention the ones with a Super Bowl ring: McCarthy, Gruden, Harbaugh (was available). That's nothing to say for others that are out there. She doesn't have any business on sports talk radio at all. Complete moron.

  7. Bad hire…now McDermott is available and he definitely knows how to win. Y’all pulled the trigger too fast on a guy who won 8 games in 2 years

  8. I think fans sometimes think these decisions happen in a vacuum where only the Falcons exist. They also don’t realize that the teams and agents have discussions as well as back channels where Matt Ryan may have known which of their preferred candidates we’re hoping to get a different job.

Before yesterday you had the Ravens and Steelers open. Both are better jobs. It’s just reality. The Raiders job might appeal to some guys if they like Fernando Mendoza and a clean slate. Now you have Buffalo open. That’s 3 jobs that any candidate would take over the Falcons and should.

  9. Do yall actually think that Gary Kubiak superbowl winning coach wasn't gonna help his son first time headcoaching job being involved in the process his Dad would have been heavily involved in the process with everything what are yall talking about the falcons gonna regret no hiring klint Kubiak

  10. This “I can only trust Matt Ryan’s judgment “ mindset falls with people who were underwhelmed with Matt becoming the POF because of his inexperience. Matt doesn’t have any cache in this role that gives him the benefit of the doubt. Every decision is a prove it on the field first decision before you are entitled to trust.

  11. This is the Falcons' media putting in overtime to try to convince the fans that this was a good hire. This was a disaster of a hire, and it was an extremely disrespectful slap in the face to Deion Sanders as well.

  12. Stefanski is a really good coach who was continuously thwarted by an incompetent owner. I've been a Browns fan all my life, Haslam just can't keep his fingers out of the stew.

  13. Why should believe in Matt Ryan? It’s his first year in a new role. MJ couldn’t draft or hire squat. Horrible take.

We have no QB, it’s that simple. Matt Ryan was a good QB, that’s why we had some success. It’s not rocket science.

  14. Look, I don't trust Matt Ryan period. Of all the good coaches you could hire, you hire one with a 3 and 14 record. When r you people going to be real? Matt Ryan represents the wanna be Good Old Boys network.

  15. There are two types of successful NFL HC’s: CEO Culture Builder & exceptional play caller. Stefanski is neither. NOBODY has said Stefanski is a culture builder. His supporters CLAIM he is an offensive genius. Hmmm, offensive genius HC who the last two seasons gave up play calling to his OC because his play calling was so trash. The OC in 2024 got fired because of it and in 2025 they were 2-6 with his play calling and 3-6 with the OC. Oh btw, that OC that went 3-6 is supposedly going to be the OC he brings to the Falcons. And it gets even better, the 9 games the OC went 3-6 play calling were the ONLY games he has EVER play called in his ENTIRE CAREER. So OBJECTIVELY our supposedly new OC is worse than Zac Robinson. Great hire Matt Ryan. Well done, excellent. Truly exceptional.
