Leafs lose 6 – 3 at home.

At least its a western team…

  1. On one hand, blew a great chance to gain some divisional lead with Buffalo and Florida both losing

On the other, if you have to lose a game, I suppose tonight would be better then a night where the division gained points on them

  2. Difference between having a good defense and a great defense. Leafs don’t have defenders on the level of Hughes and Faber.

  3. “There’s just no room for error in the East”

Sure would have been nice to get some points tonight with Buffalo, Florida and Washington losing. This 4-game stretch is tough with the next games against Vegas, Detroit and Colorado.. Hopefully they can pick some points in those games, or the situation is going to be looking rough.

  4. Wild are a great team. Way she goes boys. Shake this shit off and get ready for the next one

  5. That game was kinda must-win-ish with the 2 teams competing with us also losing, and they lay this fairy tail worth goose egg….

  6. Don’t want to be a doomer but we have won 1 of our last 4 with the only win being against the 31st place Jets.

With a tough schedule comming up we need to get back to stringing wins together

  7. Sometime dumplings and chasing good

    ..
    Sometime dumperonis and chase bad

Maybe good coach see with eyes good or bad

  8. I’m all kinds of sad and mad right now. What a missed opportunity. And the fact that we got 3 and decided to throw away any sliver of a chance of a comeback cause of the ill-timed goalie pull and dump and chase… SIGH. Be serious Berube…. we could have leapfrogged teams today! 🙁

Need the West to do us a favour and beat the Habs, Sabres and Bruins tomorrow.

  9. Missing Willie and Tanev is starting to show a bit here. Having said that, one more save and that game could have gone either way.

  10. Whatever swagger the Frost has clearly got to their male roomies now

As someone who’s seen the Sceptres lose big to Minnesota, this felt awfully familiar

  11. i think we can still crawl our way up, only one point behind the sabres, woulda really liked if we at least forced OT but we didn’t. is what it is ig. WC isn’t out of reach just yet. Maybe berube needs to use that anger on himself and figure out dumping doesn’t work with these guys.

  12. I didn’t watch the game (I don’t have Prime), but the stats on [NHL.com](http://NHL.com) seem decent. The others we’re competing with did not gain on us. This isn’t a big deal. You’d rather win, but you can’t win every game. All season long, the Leafs have been streaky; they’ve hit a slight skid of four games, but there is no better time to reverse that than Wednesday!

  13. Losing 3 of the last 4 is painful for us standings wise… thank goodness for all the Atlantic team losses today. We NEED the points against Detroit and Sabres in this next week… And anything less than a revenge game effort on Friday is unacceptable with Mitch coming into town. Long week. Big week. STEP UP TO THE OPPORTUNITY BOYS.

  14. Despite our record lately the underlying numbers really have not improved so nights like this are not overly surprising.

  15. Genuine question, because this has happened twice recently.

If there is a call in the ice, why do they review it without a challenge?

What is the difference between a team requesting a review vs not, if the refs do if it is on the edge anyways – then shouldn’t they review everything?

Like genuinely what’s the rule, because I think we got hosed out of two penalties – once with Philly and the zegras celly and then this one

  16. A terribly inconsistent effort tonight, and a dumbass move by Berube pulling the goalie, had an opportunity to jump 2 points over a bunch of teams that lost tonight but of course you’re gonna lay an egg.

  17. Woll hasn’t looked great his last couple of starts. Stolarz can’t get back soon enough

  18. I feel like it was very obvious Woll was not having a good game early on. His reactions were late and his movements were off. The swap was way too late. And the timing of the goalie pull was mental.

But you can’t show up with a 20 minute effort and expect to win either. Everyone needed to be better.

  19. Because I have zero practical knowledge of how to manage an NHL team, I think I am qualified enough to say: we should have rolled with the beast tonight and we would have probably won the game with him in net.

  20. Not upset with the result necessarily, more upset at how we allowed the result to happen. Wednesday and Friday and must wins, especially with Colorado coming up on Sunday.

  21. Team looked completely gassed when they pulled the goalie, after what looked to be an exhausted team. Everyone fumbling and dropping pucks, messy skating. All they can do is wipe themselves off and think about the next game. Our D is just a disaster. Stetcher, OEL and Carlo really only decent thing going, but thats not enough. If one of them have an off night like tonight, no one is there to step up and help out. I hope we manage to pick something up or sort it out. Our goalies stand on their head game after game. If we had a D core that could help them, man would we go far.

Plus side, 2 points for matthews tonight.

  22. Not sure if it came across on the broadcast but there was one guy going absolutely nuts booing from basically the middle of the second to the end of the game. Like aggressively loud. Yelling insults and stuff. I think it may have ended in a shoving fight after someone told him to shut up.
