Twins Hire Ryan Pressly For Player Development Role

“Send them to Houston to learn how to pitch”
Does this role allow him to pitch out of the pen cause he’s probably still good enough to be at least the setup guy for this team…
Well, they seem to be bringing in a lot of former players for teaching opportunities. Nice to see from a fan perspective, we’ll see if it leads to better results from some of the prospects.
To me, Pressly will always be a representation of what a failure our coaching staff was during those 2000-teen years. I actually liked Molitor despite his blind spots, but seeing Pressly’s curveball/slider and not letting him throw it for 5 years fails both the eye test AND the advanced analysis test. Also, I’m sure we had him trying to dot the outside corner with his straight-as-an-arrow 4 seamer, instead of living high in the zone to give it the same look as his curve/slider. Just baffles me we couldn’t get anything out of one of the most consistent and top pitchers in baseballs in his prime. Reminds low key of Ortiz.
No pressure, the owners just want you to turn cheap crappy talent into all stars that won’t demand much salary
