Jacob Trouba set the tone before the Anaheim Ducks vs. New York Rangers matchup with a not-so-subtle pregame jab, blasting circus music from the Ducks’ locker room during morning skate while Rangers media looked on. Once the puck dropped, Anaheim responded on the ice, bouncing back after an early goal against Lukas Dostal and finding their game behind strong forechecking and improved structure. Pavel Mintyukov, Mason McTavish, and Alex Killorn all played key roles, while Jeff Viel scored his first NHL goal since March 18, 2022. Cutter Gauthier delivered a huge performance on his birthday, scoring twice — including the empty-netter — to seal a 5–3 Ducks win at Honda Center.   1. The Ducks have shown a lot of grit this season and even though they had a slump, they are taking strides to better play like the beginning of the season. Go Ducks!!!!! 🤘🤘

  5. I knew that January was going to be brutal when I saw the schedule last month. That's why I was disappointed in our play late December after the Christmas break. Points we needed and left on the table before a January spent almost entirely on the road and with many back to backs.

    Lost a lot of games against then divisional rivals that we should have won too those last few in December.

  6. The writing was on the wall with the slump. I could tell it was going to happen watching the games. Too many defensive errors and lazy passes through dangerous areas instead of skating the puck forward.

    Glad it's over and they seemed to have improved quite a bit defensively.

  7. little known fact, the typical "circus music" known as "entry of the gladiators" was originally composed as a military march. so maybe he was just hyping up the boys for battle!
