4. I like Marcello Mayer and I think he's going to have a big positive impact on the Red Sox in 2026. I will be pulling for him and hoping he stays healthy.

12. If he's penciled in to play 3B, then this will be a problem because he's never played there professionally. Casas at least was drafted as a 3B. Raphaella has played everywhere but catcher and pitcher. I'd put him at 3B, before Mayer.

18. I’m looking forward to what Marcelo can do and I think Romy is pretty massively underrated given what we saw of him at the end of the season last year.

19. marcelo strikes me as a kind of guy who will have a career 115 OPS+ with some peak years hitting over 20 HRs and slugging around or over .500 with gold glove defense and he'll put up some 6+ WAR seasons, give this man a spot

23. He cannot have an impact occupying space on the DL. It just keeps HAPPENING to him. How many 22 year olds are THIS unhealthy?? What happens when he gets hurt AGAIN??? God…wish the Sox could have made him a centerpiece of a Joe Ryan trade…that ship has sailed.

25. 100% agree his defense is going to be key I would keep Mayer at 3b and move say Paredes to 2b. Not sure we know what his offensive upside is going to be but call me crazy he gives me young Begman vibes especially defensively

26. We all know Mayer can throw the leather around so he shouldn't have any problems fielding 3B. He has a great looking swing and his bat is only a matter of time. Not sure about next super star, but definitely average or better
