The Dallas Wings’ move out of Arlington faces further delays, with its incoming Dallas practice facility being pushed to open in 2027, according to The Dallas Morning News.

Wings officials verified The Dallas Morning News’ reporting in an email to The Shorthorn.

The Wings were set to begin construction of the new $48.6 million Dallas practice facility in June as part of a complete move into the city’s downtown area, with plans to use the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas as their home arena in 2027.

The move into the Dallas Memorial Auditorium — which was set under a 15-year agreement in 2024 — was also delayed until the second quarter of 2027 in May 2025.

Dallas Wings CEO Greg Bibb told The Dallas Morning News that construction on the practice facility has yet to begin. The Wings will continue to play home games at UTA’s College Park Center until construction finishes.
