  4. I’ll be at the game tonight (it’s nice to have friends with season tickets). Not sure I’ve ever seen the Wings win in Toronto but tonight is the night! LGRW

  8. It’s so weird to hear people around the league not just talking about the Red Wings, but going out of their way to bring up the team give the players their flowers. Friedman yesterday on his podcast was talking about how the Wings have a great group, other announcers talking about upcoming games against the Wings as if they’re something to worry about, commentators like Hank Lundqvist saying he believes in the team…

    It’s been a loooooong time, especially when you consider that around the time of that third cup, the commentary on the Wings was not so glowing lol. A lot of people hated the Wings because we broke a lot of hearts en route to multiple cups.

  9. A math question:

    Let’s say your team has 4 young goaltenders that have NHL starter caliber. Let’s say the odds of that happening per goalie is 1 in 50 (1/50).

    Since each goaltender is unique, the odds of us getting one solid goaltender from them is 1/50+1/50+1/50+1/50 = 4/50

    The odds of them all busting would be:
    1/50*1/50*1/50*1/50 = 1/6,250,000

    That’s the math my brain has come up with but it seems WILDLY wrong.. Anyone able to help me out in this completely unscientific thought process.

  13. The top 6 teams have a combined 44-14-6 over their last 10 games. A .783 point%. This division can get fucked.

  14. I’ve seen us tied in with Panarin but it doesn’t make much sense to me. If we are going to add a veteran forward I’d prefer Stamkos.

  15. Great opportunity tonight to put some real space between us and Toronto. Would be 10 points up with 1 extra game played if they can get a regulation win

  16. I feel for JBD. His pairing is in the top 10 (240min played) for GF% and GA/60 (better than COL’s third pairing!), but all the fans want him replaced. He’s not a bad player, but he hasn’t been able to show a lick of offense while keeping his defensive accumen. He can’t break the puck out or shoot, and he’s perfectly fine otherwise, but at the end of the day that’s not good enough.  

  18. So I read last night that Ullmark was having anxiety attacks and apparently a full blown panic attack in December when they played Toronto.

    Being a goalie is mentally hard as it is, let alone playing in the NHL. It’s an absolute nightmare to have one of those happen in the middle of a game and you’re stuck, you can’t just run away or get off the ice….

    When my twin first got sick I developed panic disorder and it’s an awful thing and quite honestly hard to treat
