Leon should have addressed this last offseason. Other players were frustrated with Kat’s defense and that was known after the season ended.
Hiring a new coach isn’t going to magically fix those issues. If you’re not trying under Thibs chances are you won’t try with other coaches. Now we’re in a bad spot where Kat has no value and other teams know we need to move him.
Yea if that is his value makes zero sense to trade him. I believe the FO will ride out the rest of the year without any major shakeup. I think playoff performances for a lot of the guys specifically Bridges, OG, and KAT will determine what we do in the summer.
It does feel like at this point unless the relationship improves between Brown or KAT one of them will go in the summer.
With Brown not being the 1st choice of the FO if KAT puts up a dominant performance in the playoffs it wouldn’t shock me if Brown is 1 and done here. I do think there is a lot of season left for the relationship to be repaired but the Draymond Green incident was bad imo.
Any one else get that pit in their stomach waking up to the randle for KAT trade, like I felt that when we signed Bargnani and it was like, welp there goes the Melo era. This felt like a – welp there goes the Brunson era. Although we got far last year, the metal baseball bat team was gone and that was who I wanted to roll with, cheer for. KAT might as well been Bargnani 2.0 fuck this guy. Get him out of here as fast as you can. I’d take back roll players and picks, this guy can’t carry the team when Brunson is hurt, he can’t be a consistent no. 2, his D loses us games. Fake all star.
