If Jett and Sproat are too high a price for Freddy, we have no business being in talks with the Mets imo. The most likely outcome here still strikes me as being getting a prospect haul from the Dodgers for him

  1. Just trade him to the dodgers for one of their top outfield prospects and a pitcher. The dodgers have so many top tier players on their roster that none of these guys are even going to see the field with them

  2. Williams and Sproat is already below the return I’d want for Freddy. If Tong were included, I could have been swayed. But I’d rather take one more year of Freddy in a competitive window and a Comp A than Williams and Sproat.

  3. I doubt a source can be this specific. I’d be fine with sproat and Williams and I wouldn’t take anything less.

  4. If this report is true, it at least sheds some light on the caliber of prospect MIL wants.

    A top 50 prospect + a controllable back-end starter.

  5. Freddy Peralta is a great pitcher so it makes me wonder what the brewers are asking for in return, it also makes me wonder how much the brewers being unwilling to pay premium talent plays into trading premium talent. Why would a high dollar team such as the Mets trade away any key pieces when they could just wait and try get him in free agency? This would allow them to see how he performs this year and then they’d just be in a bidding war with the Dodgers and the Mets have shown they have no issue with spending huge amounts of money on talent just like the Dodgers.

  6. I will expect Tong and Beaty and no less damn it!

Also I’m fine if Mets are saying no and Brewers walk away it’s not like they’re shopping and desperate to trade him.

I keep picturing Arnold like DiCaprio in Django

Mets want the guy you don’t want to trade but like you said Dr. it was your ridiculous offer that even made me consider it.

So I rather Arnold just set his price and hold to it or walk out the door.

  7. lol…who even cares? Either these big money teams pay up, or we just keep him. It worked out fine for Adames last year, we will just keep Freddy if they do not want to pay the price.

  8. I am seriously going to revaluate my relationship with the Brewers if they trade Freddy.

  9. If Stearns doesn’t want to pay the price, he doesn’t get what is on the menu. Simple enough.
