MLBTR reports the White Sox plan to be very active in free agency after the Luis Robert Jr. trade, with the roughly $20M available. The article floats several potential targets, though notably Cody Bellinger is not among them, suggesting a more measured, need-based approach rather than a splashy name.

  1. “Very active” as in creating an all-star roaster of promo items and bobble heads. Team, not so much.

  2. well yeah, they have no choice but to be active. it’s sad that we have to subtract from an already low payroll just to add some mid tier vets. Getz also said this is “an opportunity to be creative” which further hints to the strict financial limitations and we might have to trade even more assets just to add

  3. I said the same thing yesterday in the trade post, stop giving these assholes your hard earned money. Do not buy another thing. We all know that money is going right back into Jerry’s pocket.

  4. So we sign some back up level players and a vet starting pitcher that was good like 8 yrs ago and should be out of the league?

  5. Seeing as this team is not likely to win more than 70 games, why would it sign anyone who wouldn’t be around for a contention window or who wasn’t being acquired just to flip for future assets? I know we as fans want the team to perform well, but it’s just the business of baseball.

  6. Who the fuck is left that is actually possible? Get  out of here with this shit Chris. Would have just rather watched luis than someone older version we don’t need.

  7. Very active what?
There’s nobody left to trade unless some sucker wants Benintendi.

    Can’t trade draft picks.

    Can’t sign worthwhile free agents.

    What’s the plan?

  8. We’ve heard this song and dance before. If you believe this, I have ocean front property in Iowa to sell you!
