San Francisco Giants outfielder Jung Hoo Lee was detained Wednesday evening at Los Angeles International Airport, his agent Scott Boras told the Chronicle.
Boras said it was “just paper work” and that they’re “attempting to resolve it.” Lee was arriving from his native South Korea ahead of a scheduled appearance at the Giants’ Fan Fest in San Ramon on Saturday.
A spokesperson for Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, said her office is actively working with the Giants organization, congressional partners and federal liaisons to resolve the situation and secure Lee’s release
Hope it is something the team and congressional liaison can actually fix and he doesn’t find himself in extended immigration detention or get removed and face some kind of reentry ban.
