[Barrows] Shanahan said the communication with Aiyuk eventually stopped altogether. That is, he stopped answering anyone’s phone calls, including the head coach’s: “That’s something I’d never seen in 22 years of coaching.”

  1. For those of you who want to sign him, this dude is a culture killer. We don’t have time to waste on him.

  2. I’d take a mentally broken Aiyuk over Noah Brown atp. We need anything we can get if we want success next year.

  3. Bizarre. Feels like there’s something else going on with him. Reminiscent of Antonio Brown.

  4. This is something that’s so important. If you go in on it and fail? You’re out. Go in and hit? Genius.

With a first year OC and a friend as his QB? That’s some risky business right there. He either drags Jayden down.. ruins relationships.. or thrives.

How much risk are we really willing to take? I mean we aren’t a top tier organization that’s able to handle divas from what I know.

I mean we handled Tunsil pretty damn well from everything I heard.. I saw none of it from him this year

  5. Stating it for posterity: if we go get this guy we’ll regret it. At best we can do it in a way that costs us nothing but opportunities to get someone else.

There have to be better options.

  6. I feel that the 2024 team overachieved and was propelled by an incredibly close locker room. Part of the failure of 2025 was bringing in guys who had a history of locker room/team/off field issues (Tunsil, Deebo, Lattimore).

I really really don’t want a guy who completely quit on his teammates.

  7. Never been a fan of acquiring him. Diva and don’t think he’s particularly good.

  8. Mariota literally walked out on the Falcons, and we love him now. Not saying this is the same thing, but let’s just remember these posts in case Aiyuk turns it all around next season.

  9. Just a friendly reminder, none of us have enough information to pass judgement either way. Who knows if what’s being reported is accurate, who knows when aiyuk finally opens his mouth if he’d give us facts

This is a big nothing burger at this juncture.

  10. I understand the whole “culture killer” argument, but at the same time, just because he’s acted like this with the 49ers, doesn’t mean he would act like this elsewhere. Obviously, his relationship with that team soured immensely, and he wanted out of that situation so badly that he was willing to give up huge guaranteed money. There’s more to the story if someone is willing to give that up.

  11. We got other options in FA including Doubs. No reason to go for Aiyuk when others are available

  12. So he is likely mentally unwell, or he just doesn’t want to keep destroying his body and he already has $48 million, so he just basically quit.

    Unwell or immature.

    Hard pass. (No pun intended.)

  13. A lot of these same things were being said about Pickens before the year he just had with Dallas. I don’t think it’s a risky as some of you seem to think, if it works great if it doesn’t you will know pretty quick and you just cut bait.

  14. This is 49er drama. Why import it to the Commanders, who have enough problems of their own to resolve?

There are other options at WR.

  15. This is nothin new also what does it have to do with the commanders?

I actually think he’ll bounce back

  16. Maybe he didn’t answer the phone because he was too busy rehabbing his knee or doing charitable work? You ever think about that Kyle????

  17. To be seen soon on a yacht partying with Antonio Brown and no where near an NFL roster.

  18. You know what, I’ll be contrarian to the overall consensus.

I want him. He has Terry who will be a great mentor to him while adapting him to the “Commander Way”. He has rapport with JD5. And his value as its lowest. For the right price, he’s prob a steal!
