Column: The Warriors’ journey to rock bottom has been brewing for years

  1. Started with holding high lottery picks during a dynasty… and ended with both high lottery picks being bums

  2. I don’t think you people know what rock bottom means.

Have y’all be following the Kings?

    The Pelicans?

    The Wizards?

  3. Rock bottom is only if curry gets injured or retires or leaves. Until then we are competitive with a goats chance of winning any given game. There are worse things

  4. They said the Warriors were in rebuild mode and the dynasty was over after the 2019 season. Then somehow they won another ring after that. There’s always hope as long as we have curry and a front office that still believes in in him and makes moves to support him.

  5. wtf is this doomer shit. “Rock bottom”? Bro we are mediocre and you’re never out of it with Steph.

  6. Rock bottom being the end of an era? There’s a lot of IFs to go around, like IF kuminga can actually fill in for Jimmy the rest of this season and be the guy that this team needs him to be, IF draymond can keep his head on straight for however long he has left, IF Kerr stops making horrendous decisions in late game scenarios, and IF the FO makes any trade to try to help Steph Curry.

A ton of ifs. A lot of improbable possibilities. And yet they are just barely above .500.

Rock bottom would be being 7-38, and none of those ifs even exist because Steph Curry has retired.

Steph Curry still exists and is still playing at an elite level. So long as that remains true, they will not be at rock bottom. However frustrating that may be.

  7. I’ve been a fan since Run TMC this article is clickbait as I’ve seen rock bottom before.

We won’t experience it again until Steph hangs it up even then we might not reach the true depths of being terrible for decades.

  8. This was a good article. Feels like no one in here is really reading it. I’ve been a fan since the 90s, so I’ve been through the bad times. Having the right owner really is so important. For the last decade, it’s felt like we finally had that. But now I’m not so sure. I want to believe, but the reality is so much of our success has been due to a very healthy amount of luck, and I’m not sure if this ownership group’s hubris will allow them to admit that. If they can’t, then our future looks, in my opinion, pretty bleak.

The one thing we can say about them in comparison to Chris Cohan is at least they’re willing to spend money. That’s a positive. I just really hope they use that money to put smart basketball minds in decision making roles, and stop thinking they’ve hit a home run because they bought a team that was already on 3rd.

  9. My Warriors rock bottom will always be going from the height of Weber’s rookie season with such a promising future to bottom out with the Sprewell choking incident years later.

  10. In hindsight, the two timelines approach very much was a mistake and we should’ve just accepted that although we have the number 2 overall pick in 2020, we can easily trade it for proven players around the league that can fit in our system and continue winning now and then go back to sucking once Steph retires. It’s so hard to do both win now with an all time talent such as Steph while trying to develop young guys to be our future and continue winning.

  11. Rock bottom was decades ago my friend.

We’re talking so bad tickets were less than $10 at oracle.

  12. Who is this guy?

Edit: looked him up, young kid, no sense of the history with this team or the fanbase.

Warrior fans know rock bottom this ain’t it.
