Say no to drugs and Donovan
felix could have another big jump next year i dont think it will be as big of a jump as it was this year but next year the only dude who has a good chance next year is buster posey (if he gets first ballot thats heps felix alot posey had a relitive short career but a amzeing peak) and even he might be on there for a little bit though it might slow down alot the year after that
shame i really wanted donovan. feels like this team is not enough and objectively worse than last season. maybe we can resign geno on a cheap contract and sign another bat?
Let’s roll with Cole!
I don't think it's over. Have you read the tweet? He said the Mariners still have the highest offer and it's up to the Cardinals to decide if that's what they want or if they can make somebody else overpay
One thing to consider is having Naylor on the team for 162 games makes us a better team than what we started with last year.
I’m hopeful for Cole with competition from Bliss and Williamson with competition from Emerson (before he takes JPs spot). We can always make a move at either position, or any position at the trade deadline. Maybe resign Geno as a DH to platoon with one of our left handed bats
Still have Bliss. Emerson may get a shot. Would have been much easier to have paid for Donovan instead of why they got. Give the young guys a chance and wait for mid season
Geno's a great dude, but he was only worth 0.3 War as a Mariner. Williamson's glove alone was worth much more than that.
I know it will be a few years away, but I can already see the Felix statue in his trademark pose after his perfect game.
Mets are going to be a roller coaster this year. They're gonna hit, and OF defense is good, but that infield! Remember we played Solano and Tellez instead of even trying Polo at 1st, and they've made him their every day 1st baseman. Bichette is out of position at 3B, Semian is 35 yrs old at 2B. Pray for strikeouts or fly balls, I guess. They'll be entertaining, that's for sure!
Keeping Bryce happy needs to be on the list of successes this off season.
Cards fan here. I don’t think Donny getting moved after Blooms comments last weekend’s winter warmup. Most fans want to keep him. This shouldn’t be a 5 year rebuild. Should be able to compete for central by 28’, of course a lockout could change things. So extending him is reasonable in the time frame. Let’s say 5 yrs 80ish million. Anyhow Go Seahawks fxxx Stan Kroenke.
Hof committee has lost all of my confidence… Their hypocritical criteria is just silly…
It's not necessarily come to an end, it's like a poker game, you say this is my bid, do you fold or keep playing. It's like a jury in deliberation; they Cardinals are weighing all of their options (including Seattle's final one) and St. Louis is considering it along with any others they've received. It isn't over til it's over as they say. While the Cards haven't accepted Seattle's offer, they also haven't come out and flatly rejected it either. It's still on the table with the others. Maybe it's a slim shot, but it isn't over.
This team is not making the playoffs. The off season started so promising. Refsnyder is not an every day bat. Even if they were to get Donavon. They don't have enough offense. Major fail on ownership
It is always good to start a season with a team that is worse than last year. #stantonsucks
Have the mariners moved the needle towards a World Series?
Are we expecting the farm league players to bring us to that next level?
Honestly smart for the M’s to put their foot down and draw that line. We shouldn’t overpay for Donovan.
Alright guess this means they get D this offseason and aren’t serious about winning
with only Posey from the incoming class King Felix should get in next year imo
Not that I ever truly expected Mariner Donovan, buuut everyone said the same thing about Bellinger and the Yankees this offseason, only for him to sign there for exactly the reportedly rejected offer. The only real questions are if any other teams up their bids, and if Chaim Bloom decides that Jerry's final offer is close enough or not.
Also, the Bryce Miller contract gives us an interesting look at how he/his agent is valuing him (as a frontline, CYA-contending stud) vs. Jerry & Justin (let's see if you're even worth $6M next year first lmao). Honestly, gotta side with Jerry and his bean counters on this one: Bryce was extremely lucky in 2024 based on his metrics, expected stats, and under-the-hood numbers (your comp. of Corbin Burnes, on the other hand, had slightly unlucky results). Bryce's average production is far more likely to look like his 2023 than anything else: solid, walk-limiting, innings-eating goodness, but nowhere near a contending team's CY-candidate without incredible fortune.
Why didn’t Seattle go after Bischette?
We have done literally nothing while everyone else is making huge trades and getting better this is a actual joke
KING FELIF HOF 2027
Does anyone have a link to the MLB Live report that the Mariners have given the Cardinals a final offer?
Williamson hit .253. Good enough as long as we have a DH that can hit +40 HR
