From Cleveland to Atlanta: Why Stefanski Could Level Up the Falcons
On Chuck & Chernoff, hosted by Matt Chernoff with Carlos Medina filling in for Chuck Oliver, the discussion focused on the potential upside of the Atlanta Falcons’ hiring of new head coach Kevin Stefanski. The hosts highlighted Stefanski’s track record of success, noting that he has produced more 11-win seasons than all but eight current NFL head coaches, placing him among a relatively small group with sustained winning results.
Chernoff and Medina pointed out that Stefanski achieved much of that success with the Cleveland Browns, a roster they viewed as less talented than the one he now inherits in Atlanta. With greater offensive weapons and overall roster depth, they argued Stefanski may be positioned to elevate the Falcons beyond what he was able to accomplish in Cleveland.
The conversation framed Stefanski’s résumé as a reason for optimism, suggesting that improved talent combined with his proven system and experience could translate into even greater success in Atlanta if the pieces come together.

A very balanced approach to the situation.
Take this for what it’s worth. The 37-30 was with Bill Callahan as the offensive line coach. 8-26 was without.
Tom Brady had Gronkowski, Troy Brown, Randy Moss, Welker, an amazing offensive line his entire career… and he cheated. Bad example.
QB play makes all the difference in the world.
The Falcons in 2024 & 2025 with Kirk Cousins Starting 12-10, 7-3 in the NFC South. The Falcons in that same period with Penix 4-8 & 0-3 in the NFC South. If the Falcons don't make the right call at QB it won't matter what HC or OC they have.
I’ll never know how much input Ryan had in these decisions. Will his input crack this long history of failure? One year I may how much or still not know… these are the Falcons after all..
