Wolves would be way under the allowed player limit which is 14. We would have 11 players and need 6m for vet mins which means we don’t have an MLE unless the cap increases more than expected.
You have $13 mil for 4 spots. That includes the first round pick we will have and the need to replace up to 3 players.
We basically can sign 3 guys to the minimum plus our draft pick. Bones can be kept for a bit more than the minimum and we’d stay under the apron but not by much with minimum signings.
If we trade for Coby and extend him at a high clip, then we’re starting to look at 2nd apron ($223ish mil). I’m not sure Coby is worth as much as some mid or bad team is probably willing to pay him.
If we were looking to simply can kick Conley’s contract slot out a bit longer – go get TJ McConnell or add Rob to a deal and get Dennis Schroeder – either would at least better contractually for us even if TJ is older and Schroeder is a more expensive and slightly better version of Bones, IMO.
If we can get anything for Rob we need to move him. I seriously doubt we can though, and I get the feeling Finch wants to keep Mike around for his locker room presence. Someone like Coby would be great but I just don’t see how we pull any trade off without losing Donte or Naz, and losing one of them would almost certainly make us worse.
