A magnetic resonance imaging exam confirmed the anterior cruciate ligament is intact and Stover suffered partially torn medial collateral and posterior cruciate ligament damage and won’t require surgery, per league sources.

With rest and rehab, Stover could be back for the offseason conditioning program, per general manager Nick Caserio.

“Cade avoided serious injury,” Caserio said Wednesday at NRG Stadium. “I think he’s going to be okay. Probably going to be ready for the offseason program. Probably not as bad as it looked. It looked pretty bad. I think he’s going to be okay.

  1. Sucks that it was because of a poorly thrown ball. If the pass was near the receiver, he’s fine.

  2. This and CJ practicing with a basketball is the funniest shit ever, CJ did so bad 😭

  3. So far CJ has gotten Tank a broken leg, Collins a concussion and Stover a torn MCL and PCL. I miss anyone?

He’s trying to pull a Manning with the hospital balls but without being a Manning quality QB.

    Edit: Keep downvoting cj stans.

  4. This game made me realize TE depth is definitely something they need to prioritize this off season. Both brevin and stover seems to be injury prone at this point, the offense has actually been limited due to that since Blake fisher mostly played the role as “6th lineman” but has no receiving threat like a TE would. Knowing nick caley was also a tightend coach in LA I can only imagine certain frustrations he’s had since his scheme itself had to be limited. Even Harrison Bryant off the practice squad ended being injury prone, but then again except for brevin none of them could really block so that’s an issue itself. Either way through draft or FA it needs to be addressed

  5. Honestly best case scenario for how that injury looked. I (and many others) thought he tore his ACL

  6. Holy AI written article. I’ve never seen MRI and ACL written out in the same sentence.

Glad about Stover though, it looked like a guaranteed ACL injury based on what I’ve seen from other injuries.

  7. CharminJ Stroud owes that man a new knee. What a shitshow that throw was. Maybe Charmin will pray for him and make it all better.
