REVEALED: Kevin Stefanski’s IMPACT on Michael Penix | NEW Atlanta Falcons Era in JEOPARDY?

Atlanta Falcons face quarterback uncertainty as Michael Penix Jr.’s development stalls amid injury rehab and questions about his long-term upside. Will new head coach Kevin Stefanski unlock Penix’s potential or are the Falcons stuck in purgatory? Host Aaron Freeman breaks down Penix’s 2025 season, highlighting key concerns around play extension, attacking the middle of the field, and growth areas that remain unresolved after a partial ACL tear.

The episode examines how Penix compares to Kirk Cousins, the impact of missing reps this offseason, and the challenges in building a roster to maximize Penix’s strengths. Discussion spotlights offensive playcalling, receiver injuries, and whether Atlanta’s supporting cast can elevate their QB play. Can Kevin Stefanski’s play-action-heavy system raise the Falcons’ ceiling, or will Atlanta need to consider a new direction in the 2027 NFL Draft? Don’t miss this critical analysis of the franchise’s future under center.

  1. Penix could improve in all areas where he's lacking and he STILL wouldn't be the right QB for the long term. He's brittle and his injury history reads like that of a stunt man or a bull rider. May as well accept reality and start looking to move on sooner rather than later.

  2. I genuinely don't believe the Pistol vs under center was the problem, the problem was predictable play calling tendencies and a lack of creativity in playcalling. I still think we'll see plenty of shotgun and pistol with Penix in, it's just what he's good at. But they'll probably test his abilities to run the offense from under center as the season goes along.

  3. I don't get it. All this talk about Penix. Isn't it obvious that Kirk is our starter, probably for the next 3-4 years at least. We already blew two division titles by going with Michael. That ends with Stefanski.

  4. Ideally, I would want to live in a world where Micheal Penix could extend plays consistently, but Matt Ryan didn’t either and we went to a superbowl with matty. I think we can get good weapons and a better playcaller we’ll be ok.

  5. Falcon fans. Ask yourself why would we waste time on a qb who got hurt just like in his college career days half way thru the season. Just like college he can’t last past 9 games. I mean it is him who knew he could not get hit so its pistol and shotgun.

  6. As a falcons fan I would get off Penix as a franchise qb. Backup at best right now let the kid sit and heel and try to learn the system. I’d keep Kirk over Penix cause he is more dependable

  7. I wouldn’t even bother trying to develop a kid so fragile send him on home and retire with what money he got. Terrys fault couldn’t last half season just like his college days. Week 9 acl injury. Look it up.

  8. I agree with you, Aaron. We reached post-nut clarity. Everyone was hyped about the pumping. But now, with the injury and how little improvement we have seen over the games he played, we all have to ask ourselves: What will we see in 2026? He won't be at 100% all season, that is just the nature of the injury, and you probably don't want to miss out on the next class while asking yourself, can we hinge our Franchise to a QB who might have so many question marks, for the next 5 years or so.

I am glad i am not the PoF, GM, HC to decide and evaluate it, but as a Fan it makes me very nervous that we remain an unserious Team for the next 5 years because we missed the chance to take the next step

  9. Penix has done nothing in the NFL to prove he is NFL Material so stop talking like this guy is deserving of anything. All Penix has done so far is be a Coach Killer & lose 8 out of 12 Games.

  10. I’m sorry but I’m not waiting on Michael Penix. We have to take a shot on Malik Willis. We cannot afford to sit back go through another developmental season. If that’s the case trade Bijan, Drake and Pitts and bottom out! Get Willis and Flacco. We have a new offense to master and we cannot wait on Penix to get up to speed. I hate it for the young man and hopefully we can trade him and he can find success elsewhere.

  11. Qb wins when Penix lost games cause of Raheem Morris holding timeouts, younghoe missing fgs and kicks, 10 men on field vs 49ers and defense giving up leads after potential gw drives is crazy 😂😂
