For the last two years OKC have faced big injuries.
Last year, it was Chet and Hartenstein.
This year it is J Dub and Hartenstein.
Yet they still finish with the top record
This is because the one consistent piece is always Shai who drops at least 30 every single night whilst arguably being the most efficient guard we’ve ever seen.
And this is why the OKC Thunder have been the best team in the NBA for the last 2 years and why Shai is the MVP this year as well.
Here’s what makes Shai a top 20-30 player ever and what he needs to do to take that next step

Well, you said it. They’re casuals. Half the people celebrating the loss to the Pacers didn’t even know we were missing people.
I blame it on the media. ESPN drives their opinions. This OKC team is getting the spurs treatment. Pretend they don’t exist and act like they are mythical beasts to be vanquished
God forbid Shai ever gets an injury.(knock on wood) We’re cooked.
If Shai gets injured we are the pacers.
It’s a bit of both no?
You’ve all seen what Shai does when he’s surrounded by people like Darius Bazely, Dort, Al Horford, Giddey, JRE, Maledon, etc…
Shai’s obviously improved since those early 2020 teams but not so much that he could carry those teams to where this current roster is at.
OKC depth is insane.
Who cares! Everyone has opinions that doesn’t mean you need to listen to all of them. The Thunder have more people talking about them because they are champions. You notice the talk because you are a fan. More people talking =more opinions. I mean just because I like apples and I hear people say those apples are to red I am not going to vent my displeasure on the internet
