  1. “Thanks to all of the voters who voted for me”

That’d be all of them, Sho

  2. Haven’t had a man crush like this since Vigo’s Aragorn son of Arathorn hit the screens

  3. Honestly if I were ever going to allow a man to “finish” between my big buttcheeks, it would be Shohei.

  4. I thought for a second, he wasn’t gonna mention Decoy, but ofc he saved the best for last.

  5. Shut the racist  haters like Stephen A Smith up.

This is why nobody should question his native tongue interviews. He knows English like the back of his hands.

The interviews are for his fans and family across the Sea

  6. “Thanks to the Dodgers for believing in me.”

I don’t mean to be rude, Shohei. But taking a chance on who many believe to the GOAT isn’t that big of a leap in faith.

  7. As an East Coast non-Dodger (and non-Angels) fan, I am awed by him on the field but I rarely hear him speak. He’s more proficient in English than I thought.

And shoutout to Decoy is funny and sweet. I don’t know how you can’t like this guy. He just seems to have so much fun, is willing to do anything for his teammates, loves his family, and has respect for the countries and leagues and teams he’s played for. How is that *not* what you want in a baseball player? I mean, if he was 1-10 and hit .120, then yeah, you’d want more. But he’s got numbers to back up the personality and clubhouse stuff. He’s got everything that teams want to pay for, and he’s got it in spades.

If he’s not the GOAT, he’s GOAT-adjacent and it won’t take much more to put him over the top.

  8. Was that the longest speech he’d given entirely in English? That had to have been **incredibly** difficult for him. His English is 100x better than my Japanese.

  9. Better English and charisma than the speeches we’ve seen from the US government recently.
