Victory+ is now requiring a $140 annual subscription to watch the Texas Rangers. Let’s hope this doesn’t become the new normal.

  1. Hope thats doesn’t span to ducks, they will probably lose a lot of their viewers

  2. There was a cost last year for the Texas Rangers too. Someone told me the cost is due to a few factors, including MLB rules around streaming and how it is produced under a different company (not V+ itself), which has a different financial structure. I don’t know how true that is.

  3. MLB is a much larger beast than the NHL. It would be very stupid to charge anything that high for the third most popular team in California

  4. I’m going to sound like a boomer but man do I miss when I could just watch all my local sports teams (live in LA) on cable like I was invested in sports when I was younger because it was so easy. I stopped watching most sports bc I just couldn’t keep up. Not until recently did I finally start watching at the very least football & hockey.

  5. To be fair, getting to stream all of your teams games for free for two years is better than anyone else has got it. I literally can’t watch any of the other local teams because they’re all on different random subscriptions and I just won’t pay for them. If it does end up costing to watch the ducks again it’s the only one I’ll pay for.

  6. I know this is a super controversial opinion I have and I know I’m not on the popular side of it. I think $140 a season is a fair price. $140 for something you’re going to watch almost every day? Seems like a fair deal to me. Better than paying 80+ a month for cable tv.

  7. Hulu used to be free streaming app showing random shows. Then it got popular. It got bought and it started charging. That’s what streaming companies want to happen.

  8. Shoot I was hoping the angels would get onto victory+ but if that’s the case for the mlb forget that. I’ll just continue my nefarious ways….
