The NY Giants’ season has ended and Giants will be picking at 5. Let’s hear from you which player(s) the Giants should target in the draft!
Here’s a list of the draft order (so far): https://www.tankathon.com/nfl
Moving forward, mock drafts should be posted here. Also, might help to give a bit of an explanation behind your picks, to drive conversation, so tell us about that. Feel free to use this thread to introduce to the fandom about potential mid to late round targets; maybe prospects we haven’t heard of yet.
Use this thread for the entire week, anything related to mock drafts. Every Monday we will start a new thread until the draft begins on April 23, 2026.
Also, if you want to give us an in-depth analysis on a prospect, it doesn’t have to just be in this thread. Make a text post about it!
Alright armchair GMs, it’s your moment to shine. Go Big Blue!

1.05: Caleb Downs S Ohio State – Not all drafts are created equal, this year the top end talent is not at premium positions. That’s ok because Downs ceiling comp is a reed/hamilton combo, plays all over centerfield with excellent anticipation. For a middling DB/Lb group he becomes an instant safety net. Harbaugh thrived with Reed and then Hamilton, Downs has the talent to be at that level.
2. 37: CJ Allen* MLB Georgia – Traditional off ball linebacker that thrives in the gap and stopping the run, also has a neat party trick of having sideline to sideline speed. This is a great LB class and given our issues stopping the run in the 2nd level Bell and downs to pair to shore up our run d for the foreseeable future, Bell gives us the bonus confidence to cut Okereke and save $11m against the cap
4.105: Malachi Fields WR Notre Dame – At 6’4 222 Malachi is the big bodied x receiver dart needs to develop his deep pass. With a 17.9 yard adot Fields can play deep and mid while having strong high point skills in the red zone as well as strength to gain YAC

2 mocks, the first assumes we resign Wandale Robinson or Alex Pierce. The 2nd assumes we lost Wandale and didn’t bring in a high quality WR in free agency:

If there’s ever been a year I’m not going to speculate about the draft until it’s like.2 vweeks before the draft, it’s this year.
Who we sign in FA is going to play a major role in the first couple of rounds. We have enough needs that they will probably have similar grades at guys in positions of need.
Also, obviously the new coaches and their preferred systems and schemes will matter some.
Seeing the Ravens not pick up Linderbaum’s 5th year option, in spite of how good he is, because his 5th year option would be so far beyond what any Center makes, does make me rethink Downs. 5th year option is a major benefit teams get with their 1st round picks, using the 5th overall pick on a player it may not be worth it for because the position they play is questionable. 5th year option salary for 2027 is $26.5M. That’s a higher salary than any current safety AAV, and only one safety has ever earned over $20M.
