  1. I was thinking about that. When getz said he was spending all of the money saved on the Robert's trade, he was maybe saying that's our cap. He has a hard cap set by Jerry and he traded that money to be able to spend that money.

  2. Well the question would be whether Dominguez, Acuña, plus anybody else they might add, would have more impact than keeping Robert. This seems very likely.

    Now this SHOULDN'T be the question, because the Sox clearly didn't HAVE to salary dump Robert to add other FA's. However, as long as Jerry won't even spend short term money on a team that's not ready to contend, the payroll will be tightly controlled.
