  1. The Kings were supposed to be on the second of a B2B tonight but the game in Ohio got postponed last night. They are fresh and rested. No excuses tonight boys. 

    Go Preds, Knights, Mammoth, Jets, Kraken, and it feels so gross saying this, but go Leafs.

    -no rentals. This team isn’t good enough for a rental to make a meaningful difference in Cup odds

    -no giving up any of Larkin, Cat, Seider, Raymond, or Ed

  6. For all those interested in Detroit’s goalie prospects, the future is coming up fast. The Sharks 1st round pick last year, Joshua Ravensburgs is leaving the CHL to play at MSU. Trey is gonna head to Grand Rapids next season so I’d assume that the Cossa watch has officially begun. It would be nice to see him up with the Wings for the playoff run and get some games in against lesser competition before next season. I’d rather him have some reps in the NHL when we truly don’t need him than having him thrust into the spot light due to injuries. We did this in Calgary with Wolf before trading Markstrom

  10. I know you have to give up something to get something. With all the trades talk surrounding the Wings coming out several times a day now, all I hear or read is Kasper; and for some reason I don’t want the Wings to trade him. I want to see him succeed and I’d like it to be with the Wings. He almost scored 20 goals as a rookie and I thought, before the season began, that he net 20+ this season. I pulled for him through his Sophomore Slump, and he’s looking better with each passing game. LOL… I’m so invested in this kid’s future now, I’d hate for the Wings to trade him.

  16. Noticed that in the “do you shovel snow?” video from the Wings socials that Larkin was rocking a neck guard in practice – I assume to get used to it before the Olympics.

    I wonder if we’ll see him wear it in a game or if he’s only wearing it in practice. Also curious to see if he keeps it when he comes back but I’d put my money on him ditching it.

  22. i kinda feel bad for talking shit about hamonic because in the latest red wings instagram post about whether or not the guys shovel their own driveways, he said he shovels for himself and his neighbors. he seems like a nice guy. too bad he’s not that great at hockey :’)

  24. Holy Moly. Woke up at 530 and the power was out and it was COLD! At our house everything is electric and it’s 18 degrees outside here in the Hill Country of Texas this morning.

    The power came on a few minutes ago – it was out for about an hour and now we’re warming things back up. Thank goodness the BEC power co-op was on the ball and getting the lines repaired. This ice storm and cold snap has sucked. Unlike in Michigan where I grew up they just aren’t prepared for this kind of frigid weather.

    850 am. Adding this after the power went off and on four times. Well the line crews are doing their best but our house is getting to feel like a meat locker freezer. We went out to the next town over to get breakfast, some warmth and hot coffee.

    Hoping they can keep the power on now.

  25. From -12 goal differential at the beginning of December to +8 before even the start of February. +20 swing in less than two months. That ain’t bad!

  26. I love how the weather has just gone crazy right before I’m supposed to drive to Detroit for my only game this weekend. I knew buying tickets in January was a gamble but when I bought them in November things were looking a bit rough and I didn’t want to go in March. Oh well. I guess we’ll white knuckle it the whole way.

  28. Battery replacement complete. They didn’t do install, which is fine, I can replace a battery myself. But holy smokes whoever thought of designing a car with the battery in a pit in the floor instead of under the hood is sadistic. And whoever put a battery with no handles into that pit is even more sadistic.

    Thank you Costco for selling batteries that have big fat handles right on the top. And fuck you to the old guy who slowly pulled into the parking spot next to me when he could clearly see I was working on my car in the side door and there were at least 10 empty spots in that vicinity.

  29. Emmitt Finnie has 21 points in 52 games. He has had 2 major dry spells this year with 10 games without a point and 12 games without a point. If he can get more consistent I can see him as a compliment top 6 guy.
