[Sheehan] In 2001, Dan Snyder fired his VP of Player personnel, Vinny Cerrato. This was at the behest of Marty Schottenheimer who wanted to bring his own VP in. After an 8-8 season, Snyder fired Marty and his VP. That VP of Player Personnel was John Schneider, the current Seahawks GM.

It’s officially the offseason when Shotty gets brought up…this is still the biggest crime Synder ever committed. And no, I will not be taking questions.

  2. Joe Gibbs making the playoffs 2x in 4 years and Scot McCloughan finishing over .500 2x in 2 years under Dan Snyder’s ownership are very impressive accomplishments.

  3. the path to success is lined with the consequences of failures and how one deals with them. Snyder’s firings have led to many successes. If you could survive Snyder, you could succeed anywhere else.

  4. The same Seahawks GM who’s been there since the Legion of Boom. Thanks for the new piece of “Dan Snyder was a moron” information, I guess lol

  5. Jesus… the man is an NFL GM, an MLB manager, and still makes appearances at Dukes of Hazzard conventions.

  6. I’m so tired of hearing about Dan Snyder and things this organization did over 2 decades ago. At this point who cares

  7. Marty finished that season 8-3 in his last 11. And Dan fired him and Schneider so he could hire …. Steve Spurrier.

I remember that being the first red flag for me that the new owner might be a problem.

  8. And people are confused and/or disgusted when I say “give DQ and AP time.”

  9. Dear god – I did not know that is who Marty brought in. That man ruined this franchise in so many ways. I will forever be pissed about that worthless fuck making a $5+ billion profit off our franchise after doing the absolute worst job an owner could ever do. Make it make sense.

  10. Well, for just a little ray of sunshine, we did get Dan Quinn who was in that building during a lot of thier early success.

  11. Incredible how decisions made before Halo 2 released somehow still hurt this franchise so far down the line
