I mean, I love Bo, but I think Maye was definitely the better QB this season. But that’s fine, they can both be good, it doesn’t have to be one or the other. With that being said, I’d be very interested to see Bo with an elite receiving option.
Omg. This is so absurd. I love the commitment but 😲
I think Bo’s numbers are certainly limited by poor offensive weapons and a terrible running game.
Yes it’s significantly less impressive to put up worse stats on 100 plus more throws, even accounting for having more drops. Let’s not be moronic here
Well, problematic because if you took nothing else away from the Broncos game plan last Sunday, it should be that VJ and the defensive backs had zero respect for the Patriots’ receivers. I mean, Patrick Surtain looked like he was actually contemptuous, his coverage was so much better than the Patsies WRs.
How many 300 yard games has Maye had in two years? One. How many has Nix had? Six. I expect Nix’s production to only increase with more talent around him.
Keep in mind Maye was sacked 47 times. Nix sacked 22. That’s an important stat but also likely means Nix’s completion percentage is way lower since he threw a lot of passes away to avoid the sack.
If Bo does not win MVP, it will be the biggest travesty of justice since the Nobel Peace Prize. Maybe Maye or Stafford or whoever wins, can show the same grace and class as the Venezuelan woman and present Bo with the award.
I’ll defend Bo Nix, but part of dropped passes are how catchable the ball is. Nix doesn’t throw the best ball in the world sometimes. He’s learning and did very well this season. He will get better after he heals
I think they’re both in the same tier of quarterback at this stage of their careers and one is an obviously better than the other imo.
I think Bose ability shines better in ways that metrics don’t capture as he has had to bring the steam back so many times on game-winning drives and just has that clutch gene and makes all the big place in right decisions when he has to.
May also might be as good or better on those dimensions, but unlike though he didn’t have to prove it playing against great teams and having to put his team on the back to get the win.
That’s why I put them on the same tier because Mae has all the tools physically, but so far in the playoffs playing actual tough competition. He hasn’t shown out where Bo did every single time.
I haven’t really seen anyone saying Bo is better than Maye. There’s definitely an argument to be made but in the end who really cares? Both guys are really early in their careers. Look at CJ Stroud. Give it a few more years before we really compare the two.
I have no idea why you didn’t mention nix inability to get sacked along with constantly preforming when the lights are the brightest.
They’re arguably his best traits. I believe nix is the better qb, but it’s not for the reasons you listed
It’s pretty hard (and unnecessary) to argue that Nix was better than Maye this year. He’s elite in avoiding sacks and end of half/game situational football, but he’s got a lot of room for improvement beyond that. That said, his receiving corps is mediocre, run game is lacklustre, and he’s just entering his 3rd year so there’s no reason to think he can’t get better.
It helps that maye is playing a Babies First NFL Season schedule

NIK?
Give me one signature win for drake maye this year. I can give you 3 for Bo. Maye is a great qb no doubt but Bo has the “it” factor. Stats don’t tell the whole story.
Maye played the easiest schedule damn near ever.
You’re just embarrassing us when you can’t even spell his name correctly twice
Bringing up attempts is a pretty weak argument IMO as Maye had more yards and TDs on less attempts.
Use INT% fumbles and sacks. Frankly Maye had better stats regular season. Seems pretty objective to me.
Patriot fans have decided to become far more obnoxious already than they were last time
The great things about statistics is that you get to pick the ones you want
Bo Nix is 2-0 against the Raiders
Drake Mays is 0-1 against the Raiders

Bo Nix is the real deal. And he’s actually developed incredibly fast. Most QBs have a meh rookie season at best. Nix was a OROTY finalist with stiff competition. In two seasons with him, the team has moved from aggressively mediocre to legitimate contender, despite the Wilson cap hit. And now we have cap space and draft picks to go get weapons, our O-line, D-line, defense and special teams are solid.
At this point, my only concern is can Nix up his pocket passing game and can he stay healthy? Because if he can do those two things, he cooks next year and we compete for Super Bowls. In fact I never bet on sports and I’m seriously considering putting a bit of money on the Broncos getting the chip next year. We are absurdly close.
And if I were Nix, as soon as I was healthy enough to start throwing, I’d see about getting some time with Peyton to get more touch into his throws. That was what made Manning such a deadly passer, and I think it’s a big part of the reason why Nix’s passes get batted and his receivers drop balls that they get two hands on – his throwing arc is too flat.
Drop that last sentence and I agree. The completions get closer when you throw out the throwaways after avoiding a sack and we did have some big drops but I don’t think our receiving corps is bad. Sutton had a thousand yards and some big TDs this season, not to mention his 3rd down conversions. I think the stats are skewed for now, but not next season
Who gives a fuck. Nix isn’t winning MVP and we aren’t in the SB. Offseason shitposts here we come.
Maye is the better passer.
Bo is the better QB
Idk man, after watching Stiddy I realized how much Bo carries both the offensive corpses and play calling too. Also O-Line is good, but with Stiddy behind that it looked not that good. So Bo elevates that too. Kid is very good even better than I expected.
Not everything comes down to stats. Watch 2 or 3 games of each QB playing and it’s so obvious Bo smokes him every day of the week
