honestly they were looking like a dark horse contender but of course the biggest question mark was defense, BIG question mark. realistically I would have said second round exit but who knows.
I think it was the best offense in NBA history at the time. Wasn’t Jose Calderon also on the team? I might be mixing up seasons.
That offense was a thing of beauty and Jameer Nelson was an absolutely awesome Mav.

If chandler stayed healthy and played like he did on Houston, we were a really good team. We bet big on him and it fucked us until we got Luka

Iirc the record against good teams was pretty poor pre-trade. We did hang like 145 on the Lakers (who were bad) which was sick though.
My hot take is that Parsons was a good signing.
We got him on a 2-year/29m deal for nothing.
His contract was way overblown and people act like 14.5m a year is the super max.
He was also decently efficient and could play point forward pretty well
I remember when they got rondo, my brother in law who is an avid spurs fan and mavericks hater sent me a text congratulating the mavericks. It aged poorly to say the least
