Giannis Antetokounmpo Might Be LEAVING Milwaukee Bucks, Should Detroit Pistons Be Interested?

Detroit Pistons fans face the ultimate “what if” as Giannis Antetokounmpo hits the trade market—should the Pistons go all-in for the two-time MVP to pair with Cade Cunningham and create the East’s next powerhouse? Ku Khahil explores potential trade packages involving Jaden Ivey, Tobias Harris, Jalen Duren, or Ausar Thompson, weighing the cost, timing, and implications for Detroit’s championship window. Would a bold move risk the team’s depth, or is it the path to a long-awaited title?

Shifting to more attainable upgrades, Ku Khahil spotlights under-the-radar targets like Cam Johnson, Rui Hachimura, and Jabari Smith Jr. to boost the Pistons’ offensive firepower without sacrificing their elite defense. Plus, a deep dive into Ron Holland’s promising development at just 20 years old highlights why he’s nearly untouchable in trade talks. Could a strategic addition push the Pistons over the top, or is patience the real key to Detroit’s resurgence?

  1. So u fine with trading away young players for a injury prone Giannis 😂 you really would trade Jalen Duren and Ausar Thompson, both in they're early 20's for a player that's 32 years old???

  2. we would have to give up too much for Giannis and the fact he’s hurt right now makes it a no for me … I honestly think we should sit tight this year and see where we go with this current team. We have chemistry amazing defense and yes lack scoring at times but most time we are winning are its a close game even with our struggles

we are over achieving this year so let’s ride the wave #DetroitBasketball 😤☠️

  3. Snooze. No one wants Giannis. We built this and it’s going to be our team. Not some front running cheap title. No thanks. Go get Norm Powell and Bobby Portis and we’ll win a chip this year

  4. The name i will continue to throw around the Pistons fan base is Coby White, why? Because White is a legit answer to the shooting/secondary creation questions this team needs to answer if they wanna make a true deep run in the playoffs this season…and you can get him without needing to sacrifice the other young pieces of our future (mainly Ron/Ivey/Ausar). We can upgrade on the margins with the addition of White, without needing to mortgage parts of our future before they've even had a proper opportunity to compete in the playoffs. How does this deal get done? Well Whites contract fits into the trade exception we created in the Schroder deal last summer, and we would just need to add picks for incentive. And for anyone unfamiliar reading this, Coby White is a 6'5 195-200lbs combo guard whose a good athlete, a good shot creator and underrated playmaker, a 18-20ppg scorer for the last 2 seasons as a starter, career 37% 3pt shooter on volume and with deep range, and is still only 25 years old. Defensively he's not ideal at the point of attack, but he's also had Nikola Vucevic anchoring his teams defenses for the last 5-6 seasons….so maybe Detroit can do a better job of insulating him (similar to what they do for Duncan Robinson). Contract wise he's on an expiring deal, but if he elevates his play in the playoffs next to Cade (leading to a potential finals appearance)…i don't see the reason why Trajan wouldn't be ready to extend him in the off-season. The potential starting lineup would be: Cade/White/Ausar/Tobias/Duren (the addition of White adds upgraded shot creation and great shooting into the lineup while also allowing Ausar to remain at the point of attack on defense at the 3).

  5. It’s a yes. If it don’t work u can always trade him for someone real good for Gianni’s. IMO he puts the pistons as the favorites to win it all with his championship experience they will beat okc

  6. I don’t know tho cuz they didn’t look good with dame. Giannis and dame didn’t gel so I don’t know how him and Cade chemistry will be. Giannis likes to bring the ball down court a lot they might bump heads

  7. Ron simply needs more polish & refinement to his game – reality is he needs more minutes to get those reps, and I don't trust JB will give him those extra minutes over his beloved vets. Like Ausar, he needs to work on his shot but the fact he's willing to let it fly & stay aggressive no matter what tells me his ceiling is much higher than Ausar. Plus he's actually Trajan's guy

  8. Detroit need to offer Jaden Ivey,Tobias Harris,Caris Levert, four 1st rd pks,& three pick swaps to Milwaukee for Giannis Antetokounmpo After this move Detroit can still use their TPE on a player that can space the floor Tobias Harris will ask Milwaukee for a buy out if this deal happen so he can return back to Detroit Make the move Trajan Langdon so this team can win the championship this season

  9. (I don't support this at all but…) No one is talking about how maybe they clear some space to keep Daniss… and to sign Malik Beasley. Feel free to boo this comment, LOL!

  10. Forget this year. Can you win multiple championships starting next year? I'd bet on them winning one championship because Giannis isn't young anymore. But one championship would be worth it.

  11. When so many are traded for giannis then whats left of this team? Just the name? This team is what i like, if such a trade happens i would probably stop supporting pistons. Then lets just say give all the team to OKC and get all the players ıf OKC and put them in pistons jerseys and win the championship?
I dont support just the name of the team, i support the idea of this team coming from the bottom by supporting eachother, fighting for eachother, winning for eachother. Slowly growing together and proving this can be done. Otherwise there is no meaning in it. If there is someone who wants to come to this team for the idea of it thats ok come and play with us for us. I think trades should be banned 😅

  12. IF the reports are true, They said Pistons would not have to give up DUREN, IVEY, or STewart, the buck are looking for expiring contracts, picks and young talent and they would want from the pistons T. Harris, Sasser, D. Robinson, Ausar or Holland, pistons trade exception, and 2-3 first round picks and second round picks..

  13. I wouldn't mind a couple smaller moves for the future. Max Christie and Tidjane Salaun could help some this year and take over for Harris and Duncan next year

  14. Our biggest weakness is shooting. This doesn't positively or negatively affect that.

Our biggest strengths are defense and depth. With the package you put together our defense is heavily weakened especially in the short term while Giannis is out. That package also weakens our depth and with an aging player we need depth in case they get injured.

    It's a no from me.

  15. This is the hypothetical trade I'd like to see . My concern is age and all of that but if we are spending this much on a guy I think this is 1 of them guys.

Tobias, lavert, ivey, holland, sasser 4 picks

    Giannas and portis

  16. Low key targets

Jabari smith would be amazing but I don't think he is as easily avaliable. If your right about his availability they should get him now he is big he can shoot and he is on the same timeline and I love the contract.

Bobby portis is the guy I think fits and is affordable.

Mpj would be very good if the price is good.

Cam johnson I would take for a reasonable price but clearly mpj is better.

John collins and rui would be acceptable for cheap

I don't know enough about Reid,

  17. I would love to have Giannis in the red, white, and blue, but the chances of perennial injuries makes it a hard NO for me. First of all, the multiple calf injuries scare me with the recent run of Achilles injuries happening in the NBA. Also, history shows it’s really difficult for 7 footers to stay healthy once they get over the age of 30.

I’d rather trade Ivey, Harris, and some picks for JJJ. Yes, he’s going to be overpaid, but he is the best fit of pieces that are available.
