  5. Players like Benny clearly elated to be on the Wings for three more years (and Kane, Mo, Ray and Cat shouting from the rooftops how much they love being here) is really good for trade and FA potential.  

    Besides Rasmus Andersson, who was hit and run by a car in Detroit, it has to make more players open to the the idea or even excited about living and playing in Detroit. 

    Here’s hoping that GMSY can bring home a new toy for the playoffs run!  My order of preference: 3D/4D, 1LW, young 1/2C

    If you weren’t already aware, tonight’s game is ESPN+/Hulu only – no FDSND. John Buccigross and Erik Johnson on the call. Anything Buccigross related will make for a rough listen. Maybe a few ginger ales beforehand to loosen things up?

  10. I was asking about ordering centennial a while back and decided to go with Gameday Detroit. If you order Seider/Raymond/Larkin do they come with the A or C by default or is there an optional add-on somewhere I can’t find on the site?

  11. Washington is not happy with how they’ve played during their road trip, they’ll be looking to come out flying tonight. Detroit knows how to beat these guys though! LGRW

  12. Doomers acting like Yzerman has no intentions of a trade but we’ve been in the mix for multiple trades and even were a finalist for Hughes.

    Not making dumb trades doesn’t mean you’re doing nothing.

    It’s like TV shopping, sometimes you want a tv but gotta wait for the right deal.

  16. With the Chiarot signing it has me wondering where Aljo fits into all of this. He’s still showing signs of potential and growth but its still up in the air just how good he can be. Chiarot should ideally be our 3rd pair LD. They want to move ASP down to the 3rd with Chiarot. The rumor is we’re looking for a top 4 right handed Dman. Not sure if Aljo can handle being a top 4 LD yet. He has pretty good offensive instincts but has been anchored down with Hamonic and JBD for the most part and that’s certainly limited his offensive capabilities. Hopefully we can just snag a solid two-way defenseman for that 2nd pair and maybe that’ll open up Aljo’s offensive potential some more if they decide to put him on the 2nd pair.

    Alright that’s enough of my serious thoughts for today. Calling off work so I can draft up some terrible jokes for the GDT later.

  17. Going to my first Griffins game tomorrow with some friends. Hopefully they play better than they did last night, I hyped them up big time to my friends lol.

  20. Kinda funny Avs fans are starting to panic. Horrible loss to Ottawa and they were sliding before that. Apparently many are already saying they’ll be a first round exit

  21. Don’t usually share but I’m kicking off the day with some good news – last day of work was yesterday, have this week and next week off and then start onboarding with the new gig. Nice to have some downtime to be a degenerate, like I wasn’t already lol.

  22. Definitely think the roster freeze / Olympic break will act as a bit of a deadline for any sellers that have Olympians to sell. Doubt any of them will want to risk not be able to trade someone valuable due to a potential injury during the Olympics. Same might go for any buying team that is considering using an Olympian in a trade. Probably more motivated to get something done beforehand. Not quite sure how many players / teams apply to either scenario though

    Wonder how it will impact leverage. Likely doesn’t help sellers if buying teams know they have an artificial deadline before the actual trade deadline. Buyers could easily say they’re fine with waiting until after in an attempt to drive the “get it done now” price down. We’ll see though

  23. Sens fans want the league to take away the Rangers 1st because they’re sitting Panarin for his eventual trade, I’ll never understand how a fanbase that obsesses over everything except their own club still has zero idea how the league functions.
