  1. We cant afford him. Randle, McDaniels and some 2nd round picks arent enough. Only way is he declares he’ll only play for us.

  2. Only way this will work is if another team joins the trade, the Warriors would be the most ideal fit if we trade some players to them and they throw some picks and some other players or our players to Milwaukee.

  3. Let’s not forget that Giannis will have a lot of say in this. Yes if this were an open market we probably couldn’t make the best deal out there but if he says that’s the only team he wants he’ll drive down the price. Also consider what those other teams could offer cause Jaden and Randle are best players those teams could/would send given contract.

  8. There are quite a few possible trades between Wolves, Hawks, Hornets, Bucks to make this Giannis trade happen. 

    A combination of Randle/Gobert + Jaden + Beringer + ’28 1st swap + Bucks ’27 1st via Hawks could be very enticing for the Bucks. 

    Gobert (Hornets) or Randle (Hawks) would go to a 3rd Team. 

    The Wolves could take back Giannis, Porter jr + someone else or even go Giannis+Turner+ Porter jr if all 3 of Randle, Gobert, Jaden get traded. 

    There would still be the Conley/ Dillingham package left for another trade to balance the roster. 

    A Giannis trade is VERY possible.

    If its the right trade is another discussion. But its very possible to get Giannis if he wishes to play with Ant AND having a competitive roster after that trade. The Bucks need to tank so besides Giannis they very likely will give away a few solid pieces for nothing to be very bad the Rest of the season. 

  9. Shams shouted out the Timberwolves on at least two separate occasions yesterday as being on the shortlist of suitors for Giannis. Now, Windy saying that Giannis has interest in Minnesota. Those are maybe the two biggest names in NBA journalism.

    I am really trying not to get my hopes up. I think either we do not have the assets, or trading for him would be so cost prohibitively expensive in terms of gutting our present and future roster that it would not be worth it.

    But… Giannis and Ant is automatically the best duo in basketball and makes them a true contender. Part of me would love to see this roster continue to develop organically, but the chances of ever getting a the opportunity to pair a player of his caliber with Ant will probably not ever happen again.

  11. In the history of our Franchise have we ever had a top 5 player want to potentially play for the Wolves? We have probably the 3rd best player in the NBA listing us as one of his 3 destinations and half this sub doesn’t want to entertain it over Jaden McDaniels??

    Look at Boston, they traded Smart who was the heart and soul in their team and actually won DPOY, was just 2nd team All defense 1 time, and they instantly won a championship.

    This could be our similar move.

  12. Careful. Teams, agents, and media are all funneling info to sway this based on self and/or mutual interests. Not saying our involvements is completely false, but the facts are that we have the least to offer and one of the hardest paths to making the money work. Sure, we can includes players A, B, and C to equal Giannis salary, but these most likely path involved at least 2 of our top 6, so they do have to take into consideration how much they’re losing and the type of impact that could have to balance of the season. It wasn’t too long ago many thought the Dame and Giannis pairing would be unstoppable and it fell flat pretty hard … just sayin.

  14. What’s his personality like? Will he get along w Ant? Or would there be a power struggle?
