The Athletic (Keith Law) and ESPN (Kiley McDaniel) both have the Brewers ranked as their #1 farm system. We all know that there is a perceived disrespect from the media from many fans, and I’m not saying that isn’t true in some cases. However, when you look at the work of real sports journalists—and it feels like I’m underselling Law and McDaniel to call them just that—there is great respect for our organization and how we run things.
Ultimately, farm system and prospect rankings aren’t worth much if they don’t pan out eventually, but it is a great testament to the health and leadership of the organization that we maintain a great system despite our limitations elsewhere.

The Brewers ran into a couple of buzz saws the first four games and the last four games, but they did end up with the best record in baseball while putting together the best farm system. If you aren’t happy with the team, I don’t know what to say.
Law said that the Brewers were his #1 farm team even before the Peralta trade.

I think the farm rankings for the Mets and Brewers were 1 and 6 respectively before the trade, and 6 and 1 after the trade haha
At some point we are going to have so much depth that guys are actively being blocked from moving up in the system, that is the point where you start to trade real prospects to go for it at the major league level. We are not quite there yet but you can see the seeds of that in the system now.
I loved the Stearns drafts, but I have absolutely fallen in love with the way Arnold drafts. So may HS arms that aren’t even in out top 30 that are two years away from blossoming into legit prospects. A huge talent wave is coming.

Pay the coaches more and not the players can work. Avoid nfl situations where your DC and OC leave for HC jobs before going somewhere else as a positions coach to start over.
