Wemby when asked about Castle: “That’s his worth. He can shut down guys like he did tonight. Having a guy so good on both sides of the floor is just amazing. Every game I’m so glad we got him at the draft. It’s amazing.”

**General overview of everything else for anyone who hasn’t had a chance to watch yet:**
* Hoping to replicate the Q4 defense more often and reducing the amount of bad stints in games
* The brand of basketball that Houston plays
* Activity, physicality, pace, and physical preparation to help counter other team’s blueprints for containing him
* Feeling fresh for tonight’s game with the extra days off
* Not overreacting despite being down 16 pts at one point
* The number of FTA to help gauge his impact on the game
* Taking the initiative in the second half
* Diving for the ball late Q4 in case there was a challenge
* Having a consistent level of dedication for each game
Area 51 baby!
and chuds over here will still call him ass. castle rocks and is still developing. if he can get some kind of outside shooting, be it 2s or 3s, and reduce the number of turnovers, he will be an elite pg in this league.
I think the Spurs might have found something with Castle on Sengun. His strength and lower center of gravity makes him harder for Sengun to push around. I thought Sengun also got a little flustered with a smaller player up on him, similar to what we’ve seen happen to Wemby on occasion.
Can’t do it the entire game, because there’s definitely other guys on the rockets deserving of Castle’s attention, but good to know that’s something Mitch has in his toolbox.
Yall over reacting on Castle’s turnovers (I do as well sometimes) need to give him space to grow. I remember the same sort of angst around TP when we first drafted him and his benching in the playoffs. Castle may never hit TP’s heights, but his teammates clearly love him and see the vision.
I do wonder if the Spurs plan to have Fox do more of the primary ball handling in the playoffs. It felt like Fox did more of it tonight. It would make sense to me if the season plan was to have Castle and Harper soak up most of those minutes and transition to Fox after all star break. Let the kids get experience, save wear and tear on Fox, and have Fox in the driver’s seat in the post season
Hopefully this shuts down all the “Castle is the odd man out” trade talk.
Wemby/Castle/Harper is our big 3 for a long time. Having an all star guard in Fox as their vet and mentor is the cherry on top.
Wemby needs to read this subreddit more to educate himself on Castle.
I don’t think I could ever trash a player that Wemby so obviously values. Area 51 must remain intact until we’re hanging banners.
Anyone else think that strangely Castle is kinda who we hoped Sochan could be? Dawg on defense and kind of a playmaking/buckets around the basket guy on offense?
