Ian is a great hire. Watched a ton of his interviews at the bears researching on his draft philosophy and the dude’s really intelligent and worked hand in hand with Poles to get to where the Bears are. Bears fans speak endlessly good things about him.

Bears fan here, you guys should be very happy with this hire. Many times Ryan Poles wanted to pull the trigger to trade up (Rome Odunze for example) and Ian held him back. Ian is a no bullshit guy and feel he was just as pivotal in getting the Bears where they are as Poles. Congrats on the hire, I am sure the Bears and Falcons will be making trades often.

I like the hire! Bears front office been working the past few years. Feels like Matt being the decision maker was the right play. I mean if nothing else, hes just more in tune with a successful modern approach to football than guys like Rich McKay.
This is a huge get! He’s interviewed for many GM roles over the past couple years but I believe turned them down. It says a lot that he chose us.
Ok so we now have Matt Ryan head of football, a guy the won coach of the year twice with the friggin Browns, and a guy that played a role in the Bears turn around?

Cunningham was my #1 candidate. His Bears tenure was solid but my primary interest was based on his time with both Howie Roseman and Ozzie Newsome, that is about the best learning experience you can get.

2-time COTY and keeping the guy who fixed our defense (who i’m eating several crows for shitting on when we rehired him), greatest Falcon in franchise history in the FO, a great mind as our GM, new unis and POTENTIALLY new logo, NO FUCKING RICH MCKAY…obviously results need to be seen and all that, but i can say for the first time in years that this Falcons org is unrecognizable in the best way.
