Since we got 17 different threads about Paolo and Mose not seeing eye-to-eye, which all originated from totally random sources, it's probably appropriate to hear what Paolo himself had to say on the subject after the game last night. Go to the 7:37 mark:

Funny how he basically said the same thing as Mose… when Mose said it, everyone commented on how it was implied that his time is up because he was saying a diplomatic answer. Now that Paolo has basically the same story are we all gonna say Paolo is on his way out because he gave a diplomatic answer?
The Magic have one proper beat reporter. The rest are credentialed fans with blogs and podcasts. They need constant engagement. That’s all I’m gonna say. If it doesn’t come from Jason Beede take it with a grain of salt. It’s just the sad state of journalism right now.
And just so I’m clear many bloggers and podcasters are great but they don’t get a salary so they need to keep engagement up so their job isn’t the same as a journalist no matter how much they walk and talk like one at pressers or online.
The rumors may certainly be just fanning the flames that were already there to generate clicks or interest. Mose and Paolo may be giving PR answers, they may not. Doesn’t really matter either way. The frustrations with Mose are not tied to his relationship with Paolo. They are tied to his competency as a coach and debate on whether he is the right person to get us to the level of making deep pushes in the playoffs and being actual title contenders. Their relationship status doesn’t quell any of those concerns.
Love it!
I have absolutely no idea what the truth is regarding Mosely and his relationship with Paolo or any other team member, but I would not expect Paolo to say yeah Mosely and I are not getting along publically.
I am sure the Magic’s PR team is well aware of the “rumors” regarding tension between Paolo and Mosely and prepped both of them for the question. Both have answered the same question with diplomatic answers exactly as I would expect them to.
Is there a problem between the two of them? I have no clue, but Paolo giving a diplomatic answer does not really in my mind move the needle all that much.
TBH, this isn’t exactly the set down that I think a lot of people will think this is.
Two or three games ago Paolo had a pretty well rehearsed response to the press where he essentially said “it’s three years of never being different and something needs to change”. You don’t say that to the press when you’re seeing eye to eye.
In this – Paolo is saying, we don’t fight, we communicate, there’s nothing that hasn’t been unsaid. He specifically says “me and him are aligned trying to figure stuff out.” That doesn’t mean he agrees to what Mosley is doing.
Then he makes a witty comment about winning curing all and kind of calls out the press for doing the stories – deflection.
So essentially what he says is:
1. We respectfully disagree and don’t fight about it
2. Mosley has helped me in my career and I’m mature enough to recognize that even if we don’t see eye to eye now
3. You guys make up stuff and what you wrote isn’t the whole truth (but I’m not telling you the truth because winning cures all and nows not the time)
And to be frank, a lot of people are shitting on the reporters here acting like they are totally making up this rift WHEN PAOLO HIMSELF SAID IN A POST GAME THAT SOMETHING NEEDED TO CHANGE and gave examples of things that coaching needs to change. They didn’t make this up from thin air. It’s literally because of this press conference 7 days ago.

Magic got there Mojo back
I didn’t see a massive dump made in that quote. He acknowledged that they have both been frustrated when losing. Anything said beyond that would be a PR disaster.
Agree that the fan bloggers are no sources at all. NBA teams see these people as free social media employees, basically. And they want followers so they constantly have to talk about the team even when they have no idea WTF they are talking about.
The rumors have come from national reporters and folks with a little more inside info. Doesn’t mean it’s true, but I don’t think it’s insane to assume that Paolo is not in love with Mosley as a coach.
You’re trolling us with this nonsense take right?
You can’t think unless Paolo goes public to the press then Paolo is good with Mosely.
I’ll dig up the Penny affirmations of Brian Hill if you really need me to. Or how about Dwight glazing SVG literally in the middle of SVG saying it was broken.
Players don’t want to be seen as coach killers. Doesn’t mean the player is good with the coach.
The fuck is he supposed to say? “Yea the rumors are true unfortunately. We don’t get along and I want him canned”.
I couldn’t care less what Paolo says as he’s motivated to lie to the media to keep the peace, and not undermine the team while Mose is still there.
