Sucks for him, but at the same time he wasn’t highly regarded by Getz and crew.
Never took the next step and is now in a very crowded IF.
this dudes bounced around more than a beach ball at a Nickelback concert
to be expected. this time last year I had much higher hopes for Ramos (possibly augmented by how bad Vargas was the year before). he’s still young but he didn’t even get a ST invite. oof
Remember when we briefly thought he was the future at 3B? Rip
There was decent amount of hype with Ramos when he first came up. Sad to see it never materialized. Hope he can figure it out still
Good player. There just isn’t an ounce of fat on this robust 40 man. With studs like Drew Romo and Derek Hill, where’s he gonna play?
i had totally forgotten about him until i was looking at Bader’s stat comps the day
He’ll probably just go the Elko route, no? Go unclaimed, get outrighted to Charlotte?
damn had high hopes for him. his first call up had him lookign hungry and athletic
The team had (and still has) too many guys on the 40-man who are out of options which limits their roster flexibility. Even after the Ramos DFA, other guys out of options include Luisangel Acuna, Korey Lee, Lenyn Sosa, Derek Hill, Everson Pereira, Curtis Mead, Tyler Gilbert, and Bryan Hudson. A few of the NRIs fighting for a spot on the 40-man are also out of options: Jarred Kelenic, Dustin Harris, and Tyson Miller. It makes sense for the team to DFA some of those out-of-options players when they need to open up a 40-man spot.
On the other hand, the fact that Ramos is out of options makes it somewhat less likely that he will be claimed by another team than if he still had options remaining, so maybe he will stay in the Sox system despite the DFA.
Too bad. He seemed like a fun guy. Still a chance he clears waivers and finds his way back to the Sox.
he will be back again, cant see anyone else taking him ? see Elko ?
