NFL Pro Bowl Now vs Then

  1. Wow, I’m glad we made a meaningless game that caused injury to people something a bit less serious but also way less dangerous, considering it had no impact.

  2. It was so much fun to watch the best players play a game of good football. Then it morphed into the 8th best player at each position playing games.

  3. It’s a shame that the pro bowl was essentially removed. A prize for the winning conference might’ve made the game matter. I can’t think of anything, aside from a lot of money at the moment, that would suffice.

  4. It’s much better now. Now it’s just a fun event for the players rather than a risky game for no reason other than the fans entertainment

  5. Players getting injured for a meaningless game was always dumb. I don’t blame them for declining to go when nothing is on the line and there is no reward.

  6. I dont think it was the hits that made the Pro Bowl more exciting. The pro bowl used to be played after the Superbowl, so the participating SB teams would be included. The fact that there’s never any champions at the Pro Bowl makes it less relevant.

  7. People have been saying the Pro Bowl “used to be good” for +15 years. Imo goofy games are more fun

  8. Idk about yall but I prefer my favorite/best players possibly getting hurt on a pointless game for nothing

  9. It’s funny watching people glorify and miss the pro bowl game, but when it was on all I heard was “just have a skills competition, no one watches or cares about the fake game”

  10. I get why guys don’t wanna play like back in the day. You really wanna risk getting hurt and not playing the fallowing season? For what? What the nfl needs to do is either stop the pro bowl all together bc it’s an absolute joke right now or completely rebrand it and name it something else. The whole sanders things is comical. I honestly don’t know anyone who watched it anymore. Being a pro bowler today means absolutely nothing.

  11. I think instead of the pro bowl, we take the NFL team with the worst record that season and have them play against the best college team that season, playing by NFL rules. That’s would be a hell of a game

  12. Hot take, I don’t really see the problem. Pro bowl is a participation trophy for honorable mentions, no point in getting people hurt over a game that doesn’t matter

  13. Oh please. How hard did you have to go to find the only five big hits in the history of the pro bowl?

Death, Taxes, and people complaining about the pro bowl.

  14. Everyone’s a badass till the pump a bullet in their chest so the scientists can study their brain

  15. People seem to have forgotten that players wised up and realized it wasn’t worth risking injury for a meaningless game. They started playing smarter, which meant playing lightly and extremely lazily. Watching a pro bowl was like watching a practice. [This was from around 2010.](https://youtu.be/IyU-3PrLT-g?si=3gpaKePfopwmiisJ)

  16. Kinda unfair to compare all the hits they could take back than when they were souped up on PEDs (cocaine)

  17. Except the before video isn’t what the pro bowl was before they transitioned to what they do now. It was too guys refusing to play and if they did everyone just dogged it. No one cared enough to try hard enough to get injured or injured someone else. Id rather see it be a fan event that is fun than guys not showing up and not caring
