Bo Nix SPEAKS OUT On Sean Payton’s Comments About Recent Injury…

Denver Broncos news today: The Broncos find themselves in a bit of a pickle on this episode of Broncos Breakdown by Chat Sports. Broncos head coach Sean Payton took to the microphone recently and talked about Bo Nix’s injury to his ankle vs. the Buffalo Bills in the AFC divisional round. Payton claims that Bo’s ankle injury was predispositioned, and that “doctors told him” it was a matter of when, not if Bo’s ankle would get injured. Bo Nix then commented on Payton’s press conference and claims that Payton’s comments weren’t true and that Payton shouldn’t have said that. “I don’t think he really should share how many surgeries I’ve had in the past, to be honest with you, he doesn’t even really know that. But it’s going to be good to get back, get back to work… Nothing really that concerns me, nothing that scares me moving forward. Nothing predisposed, nothing that was there originally that might have gotten confused. Just a simple step with my foot up in the air, my body weight came down on it, sort of got twisted up. It could have been a worse landing, but I think all that force went into the only place it could.”

  2. The comment from Sean “well if we would’ve known that, we wouldn’t have drafted you”. Sean trying to be funny but also Sean bringing this on himself. What does he have to gain by saying that at all? 95% of coaches give high level comments on player injuries. It’s poor form and just weird for him to go down the route of exposing past surgeries and stating that it was imminent. This is Bo’s franchise, not Sean’s. Happy Bo snapped back at him.

  3. Sean Peyton may have crossed a line with hippa laws, on what he is legally allowed to tell. This could be lawsuit by Bo Nix against Peyton and the Broncos, in case something career changing happens based off of the outcome of this procedure, going forward. There are laws that protect patient health information and if the Broncos release or demote Bo, this could get really ugly.

    It sounds like NY Jets drama, or maybe more like Kurt Warner, Rams drama, more specifically.

  10. John Elway had known knee issues throughout his career, dating back even to college if not High School. In fact, his insurance provider REQUIRED him to wear a knee brace on each knee. And, Elway was banned from skiing. Everyone in the NFL knew this, but Reeves and Shanny NEVER talked about it. So, Payton screwed up–big time. But the relationship has not been 'fractured' permanently. Payton just needs to take a page out of Belicheck's book and say nothing of substance about a specific player: "Bo's gonna be fine. He'll help us win games. Next question?"

    Is this a big deal?

    Probably not..

    I do think it affects Bo's trust level with Sean and maybe naivety about the NFL as a business.

    They should talk, probably already have. Sean should apologize, move on

  21. Sean wants to change the subject from his disastrous stupid call to go for it instead of kicking the field goal. It’s not like it’s not known Bo has had issues with his ankle in the past, my 84 year old mom who lives in Denver knew he had an ankle issue prior to this break. So it’s not like Sean is saying something that many people in Denver knows and yes it can cause issues in the future mss as king money etc rightfully so but one would think they could mitigate happening again by special shoes or some kind of cast like that doesn’t let his foot or shoe bend in the way that puts added pressure to the issue in the ankle.
