I never gave up on Sam Darnold. Wanted Carolina to keep him. We only missed the playoffs by 1 game the Steve Wilks interim year. If we beat the Bucs in week 16, we likely are in the playoffs bc there is no reason to throw the game against NO in week 17 like we did.
I’m glad we got Bryce now. I’m a Bryce truther, like I was a Darnold truther. But it does hurt a bit, to wonder what could have been.
Hope Darnold wins his ring. Dude deserves it with how much he has been counted out, and how much adversity he has faced.

Sam and Baker both never had a chance to succeed with the way the team and FO were. Honestly no QB would be able to come into that mess and succeed.
Cool
Except he’s still not a top 10 QB so…
That Panthers QB room was loaded with raw talent.
What I’m getting from the responses here is that there’s a weird amount of Panthers fans who’ll inexplicably be rooting for the Patriots to win a Super Bowl?
Imagine in 2022, we don’t trade McCaffery and Horn is healthy. We beat the Bucs and might have won a playoff game. We’d be on a completely different trajectory now.
As a fan that couldn’t stand Sam Darnold, I’m happy to see him make it to the biggest stage in football, and I too hope they win.
I remember that time and thought I was going insane how everyone was just dismissing that second half of the season run he had.
He took over for the team when they were 1-8!!! and came within a Mike Evans monster game.
Panthers fans even tried to use the week 17 game as some sort of indictment on him when it was a lame duck game with lame duck players being coached by lame duck coaches.
Well the fan base got their wish. Let’s see if BY in his career can reach the highs Darnold has already reached this year.
Fuck it, OP for General Manager.
Sam always had some flashes of great play even in spite of our dumpster fire org at the time. And always a great attitude about everything.
What I cannot explain is why Baker was so atrociously god awful here. Dude was unplayable and we know he’s not actually that bad so that will always remain strange to me
Anyway, also rooting for Seattle of course, I wasn’t quite ready for the evil empire to be back this fast
People forgetting about the football terrorist we had calling the shots back then

Me neither man, I thought Sam was good for us. Just didn’t have a team around him. I was all in. Thought he should’ve gotten another season.
I was big on Darnold when he played for the jets. Never thought it was his fault, And I was over the moon when we moved on from Teddy B and got him. Out of the revolving door of qbs we had from the cam departure to the bryce era, Darnold is the only one I still respect. As much as i love bryce, I feel we moved on way to early from him (same could be said about wilks).
Darnold was terrible in Carolina, he inherited the same team as Teddy and was way worse
